Chapter 8- Caged In.
Harry's POV
............................
I was angry with myself. I felt like I was trapped. My own mind was closing the walls in on the person I thought I was. They were blocking him out. I can't stop now... I'm caged in. They're tempting me, and I'm giving in.
I see the way she looks at me. It's not the way she used to, her eyes used to be tender- soft and caring, but most of all loving. That's changed drastically in the past few days though, her eyes are distant, fearful. I still see the love and adoration that used to be there. But she doesn't love me. She loves the old me, the one that's trapped somewhere far away... The one that can't break free.
And the one that's not coming back.
"Harry..." She whispered from underneath me.
I snapped out of my daze and looked towards her scared face. "Hmm?"
"I-I, uh..." Bailey gestured towards her almost bare chest.
I got up, and looked her over once more, and a smirk broke out on my face. I loved taking the time to admire her, and I loved that no one else looked at her this way. She was all mine.
Just by looking at her, I was reminded of it. I could feel the warmth radiating off her skin, and the smell of her blood made me want to explode. I was surprised that she had never noticed. She had never even thought about why should was slower than the rest of us, why she wasn't as strong. Nor did she question why I gave in to changing her so fast.
The boys too, they were almost just as oblivious. They never thought of why her blood tasted so good... Why she smelt so much better than the rest of us. Why she could go longer without blood than any vampire.
It's because Bailey is a hybrid. Half human, half vampire. She fast, but not as fast as a regular vampire, and she strong, but not as strong as the rest of us. Human blood still runs in her veins, although its laced with venom. She can survive on human food, or blood. She'll live longer than a normal human, but she'll eventually die, and she won't age. Her body does everything that a vampires body can't. Meaning, she's still able to be pregnant, but she won't have her period. And her hair still grows, although it's extremely slow. Her heart beats faster than the rest of ours, and she can't sit still long as the rest of us can.
No one knew about her, except for me. An old friend of Liam's was half and half, Andy. He told me how he came to be, and how to change a human into a hybrid. It was hard changing Bailey, and it required extreme focus. I had to stop myself from drinking her dry, and keep my teeth sunk in long enough for my venom to full the other half of her up. Andy said a normal hybrid lives about 170-180 years, and by the time I met Andy, he was 176. He told me all about his hybrid ways, and then asked me to change him before he died. I did, and after that, he ran off. I haven't seen him since.
When Bailey asked me to change her, I flipped. Her voice was stuck in my head, and I could think of anything else. I'm going to die, Harry. Your not. I panicked, and I thought that making her into a hybrid would give her more time with me, or at least spare me 180 years until I had to change her. I know I won't get away with this, I'll eventually have to tell her, and when I do, she'll be mad, maybe mad enough to go and live the rest of her life by herself. Maybe she'll spare me the pain of having to watch her die, or having to actually change her.
I bit my lip, my eyes clouding over with tears as I thought about her leaving me. I don't think I could live with out her. I quickly blocked the thoughts out of my mind, and I grabbed my shirt, tugging it onto my body. "Let's go furniture shopping." I said, point blank.
She furrowed her eyebrows. "What the fuck?"
I grinned as the curse slipped from her plump lips. "Put your clothes back on." I nodded towards her jeans, and pulled one of my band t-shirts out. I tossed it over to her, and she glared at me as she put it on.
I winked at her, and moved closer. I rested my hands on her hips, and let them travel towards her bum. A squeak escaped her mouth and I chuckled. "Don't you worry, we'll finish this tonight, once we have some furniture in here. Just imagine, once we have moved down here, we can do it everywhere. Not just in the bed. We can do it on the couch, the floor, the kitchen table, up against the wall, the counter. Any where you want."
She shivered, and I pulled her towards the stairs. "Bailey and I are going shopping!" I shouted, as we left the house.
I dragged her behind me, tugging harder when she tried to refuse me. After opening the car door, and closing it after her, I stepped around to my side.
I started the engine, and kept my eyes on the road as I started driving. I could feel her glancing at me every so often, and once I looked over to her, and she immediately looked towards the window, outside suddenly becoming more interesting than me.
I smiled, laughing through my nose, and turning back to the road.
"Harry?" Her soft voice asked.
"Yes, baby?" I rested my free hand on her thigh, and looked at her once again.
"Why did you do it?"
My grip on her skin tightened, and I felt her tense. I knew exactly what she was asking about. "Because, Bailey. Vampires are made to drink human blood, not their own. Not every person in this world needs to live a long and healthy life, okay?"
"How could you say that?" She argued back. "If you were really that desperate, go to the hospital and steal a couple blood bags! You don't need to kill people!"
I slammed on the breaks, slowing us down onto the side of the road. "Yes I do! Blood bags don't taste the same, their not as fresh." I seethed, smirking. "And besides- once I get my mouth on those humans I can't get it off." I continued driving, leaving my hand on her thigh.
If only she knew... If only she knew how much stronger our lust for human blood is than hers, then maybe, just maybe she would understand. Her knowledge of self control isn't as expanded as ours, it takes years of practice. But she doesn't know, because she's half human herself.
Bailey shut her mouth after that. She admired the sight outside with a sad look on her beautiful face.
I pulled into a parking spot, and shut the engine off, before looking over to my wife.
"Your going to stop though, right?" She pleaded.
I sighed, looking straight into her distant eyes.
"No." I answered truthfully.

A/N: Hey everyone! I'm so sorry for not updating... I would make up some excuse- but this time, it was just wanting to spend the rest of my summer slacking off, and just taking a break. I felt unmotivated for a while, and I had bad writers block, and I was also being lazy... ;) I know it was kind of mean, because I told you that I would update a long time ago, but I didn't... I also didn't post the 'All About Vampires' because I think I'll just post it when this story is finished, so then you can ask questions about both stories! And also... OMFG, WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THIS CHAPTER? What are you thinking about this whole hybrid thing? Please leave long comments! I really love reading them, and I don't like it when people just comment- 'update.' it annoys me. Anyways, enough with the bold, I hope you like this chapter, and once again I am really, really sorry! I love you so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so much! ~LUCIA<3
