Chapter 15- What Happened To Weak?
.................................
I bitterly laughed. "Pregnant? Really, Harry?"
"You think I'm joking?" He replied, rolling onto his bloody back, and standing up.
"Of course, I'm a vampire, you changed me. I'm not a 'hybrid', or whatever it is that you were talking about, and I'm not pregnant." I stated firmly. My thoughts had clouded entirely when his earlier statements were made.
He chuckled. "Okay then, why do you think your slower than the rest of us? How come you smell so much better than we do? Why does your blood taste so much better?" He stood up, and pulled his hands out of the duck tape easily. What happened to weak?
Before I had time to process my thoughts, Liam was speaking.
"It's true. Hybrids exist. My friend Andy was one."
"What?" Harry exclaimed. "Andy said I was the only one who knew."
"I was his best friend, Harry!" Liam spat. "Of course I knew, I knew you changed him too."
So if this was true, if me being a hyrid is true... Then does that mean that I really could be pregnant?
"Am I really pregnant?" I asked Harry, tears in my eyes.
"Why do you think I still used condoms after I 'changed' you?" He asked. "Last week, I didn't use any, and we had sex at least twice a day... So yeah, it's a possibility."
Normally I would be embarassed by his blunt remark of our sex life, but that wasn't exactly what was on my mind.
Tears rolled down my cheeks, and I bowed my head to keep the others from seeing.
A soft hand landed on my back, and I was ushered towards the door. Louis whispered softly into my ear. "Go with El, we'll take care of Harry."
I nodded, and headed straight for Eleanor. Her arms wrapped me in a tight embrace, and I cried into her neck.
"Its okay, its okay." She repeated. She guided me towards the stairs, and I followed closely behind. "We're going to go and get a test."
I didn't argue. I knew we would have to get one sooner than later.
I put on a coat silently, and followed Eleanor out to her car. The drive was silent and I was left to my thoughts.
I wasn't ready. I'm not ready to be a mother. I got married at nineteen, and now I'm pregnant at twenty. I had agreed with my mom that we were not going to have kids at all, and now look whats happened. I'm not prepared to bring a child into this world. Especially not in this time. Harry's gone mentally insane, and who knows how long it will take to get him back to normal. Let alone get me to forgive him for all this shit that he's done.
"I was talking to Zayn in the hall." Eleanor told me.
I looked over, and waited for her to go on.
"He wanted me to tell you the sciences behind the whole matter." She laughed, and pulled into the car park and turned off the engine, before leaning over and grabbing my hands in hers. "He said that Harry's not himself right now, that he's trapped inside of himself and he can't get out. He said that after they fix him up, he'll be back to normal. He said that the enormous amounts of human blood that Harry consumed triggered something in his brain, that made him someone different."
I nodded and tried to wrap my head around the thought of someone else being in my husbands body. An alter ego.
"I don't want you to worry." She sniffed, tears welling in her eyes. "Harry is such a great guy, and he loves you more than anything on this entire planet, Bailey. That boy would die for you. I know what he did was incredibly stupid, but it wasn't really him."
I bit my lips and let the tears fall once again. Eleanor reached up and cupped my face in her hands, pressing her forehead against mine. "Zayn and Lou are gonna fix Harry up, and he'll be back to that sweet, carefree, loving guy you married a year ago. And once that happens, you're gonna bowl through this pregancy, and have the cutest kid ever." She snuffled. "Not to mention, this baby is going to have some kickass parents."
I laughed, and closed my eyes. This is exactly what I needed, someone to talk to. Someone to tell me that everything is going to be fine.
"I'm not saying there won't be some ups and downs," She continued. "Or hormones, and mood swings," She spoke, and we laughed again. "But you guys will come out on top, and you'll be the best parents ever. Everything will turn out fine. I promise."
I smiled and let the tears flow down my cheeks. "Thanks El."
"Your welcome, Bailey." She grinned.
We got out of the car together, and headed towards the cosmetics, and pharmacy section of the store.
We battled over which ones to get, before deciding to ask for a bit of help. A woman that looked to be in her mid thirties, with a white coat came to give us some advice.
"Clear Blue and First Response are our best sellers. I personally would reccommend First Response. Its better at detecting early pregnancies." She smiled.
"Thanks, I think we'll go with this one!" Eleanor answered, smirking at me. She had been telling me First Response since the minute we stepped in the store, but I was skeptical and leant towards Clear Blue.
"Great! May I ask which one of you is the new momma?" She pressed.
"Um... That would be me I guess..." I stammered.
"Ugh, how exciting! I hope everything goes well!" She nodded before walking away.
Eleanor grabbed two more tests in her hands, and walked towards the till. "Can never be too sure."
I rolled my eyes and followed her, noticing she was already pulling out her credit card. "El, you don't have to pay." I stated.
"Don't be silly! It's on me! You didn't bring any money anyways."
"I'll pay you back." I grumbled.
"No you won't!" She sang, sauntering out of the store.
Once again, I rolled my eyes.
"I can't wait to be an auntie!" She exclaimed, starting the car. "Your baby is going to be the cutest. Yours, and Harry's faces combined into one? Adorable." Eleanor continued her rambling all the way home, and I did my best to listen to her, but found myself zoning out.
I had always dreamt of having kids. Having a baby girl, and painting her nursery a soft pink. Or having a boy, and painting his room baby blue. I remember always wanting to dress up babies in the cutest clothes, and cutest shoes. Ever since I was little, I had names picked out.
After falling inlove with Harry, I abandoned the idea of having a kid. I knew it was impossible. But know look at me. I am possibly carrying a child.
Eleanor pulled into the driveway, and rushed me out. Before I could really even blink, I was standing in the bathroom, the box of pregnancy tests infront of me. I akwardly followed the insturctions, and put them in the sink, before leaving the bathroom and sitting on the couch.
Eleanor and Louis sat beside me on the couch, while five minutes ticked off on the clock.
The second the buzzer sounded, I bouced off the couch.
My legs carried me at a fast pace towards the bathroom. I occupied my eyes and stepped infront of the sink, before looking down.
All three tests had two lines scribbled in. Meaning positive.
"I'm pregnant."
