Chapter 14- Just Like Last Time.
Bailey's POV:
........................................
I couldn't process what Louis had done until I saw him drag Harry's body towards the stairs. My immediate reaction was to scream, but my throat was tightened to the point of not being able to breath. Tears started to barrel from my eyes, and I feel my knees buckle underneath me.
He couldn't... He's not... He can't be dead.
I was blank. I couldn't feel anything. No pain, nothing. I couldn't speak, all I could do was sit there.
I sat on the floor as I stared at Louis, he was dragging Harry's unmoving body up the stairs.
Amongst all of my frigid thoughts, and teary eyes, I some how got air past the gaping hole in my chest, and I began to protest. "No! Stop! Leave him alone! Louis! Stop!"
Reality settled in as Louis finally dragged Harry all the way up the steps. He was out of sight. But that wasn't all. He was dead. He is dead. My husband is dead.
The pain hit me like a train. I felt as if someone ripped my heart out of my chest and stomped on it time after time. Each strike that was made, the feeling got a little worse. More tears came- not that they ever stopped- and I stayed still on the floor.
"Bailey, he's fine, Harry's fine!" I heard someone say.
I looked towards the voice with disbelief in my eyes. Zayn.
He couldn't really be denying it, could he? He couldn't be telling me that what I had just saw with my own eyes wasn't true.
"He's not dead, he's not dead." Zany repeated.
I continued to stare through Zayn. I couldn't afford to respond to him. I just had to listen.
"Louis just broke his neck, it's not going to kill him, the bones will be temporarily broken, he'll heal fast, he's not dead, I promise." Zayn looked me deep in the eyes, and slowly, I felt myself listening him, and coming back into the real world. "It's just a way of getting him where we want him. He'll be really weak, and he'll need blood to help the bones fully heal. That's when we'll give him vampire blood, instead of human blood. It's just a way of breaking his bad habits. Rehabilitating him. Just like last time."
Last time? What does he mean? I didn't have the energy to talk, but thankfully the gaping hole in my chest started to disappear. "Take me to see him, please." I squeaked, barely audible.
Zayn sighed, but obliged. He helped me up, and my shaky legs followed him up the stairs.
I was taken to a room I recognized as Eleanor and Louis' old room. It was completely bare. After Harry and I had moved downstairs, they must have taken us up on our offer of moving into our room.
In the middle of the room, there was a chair. And Harry's limp body was resting on it.
I let out a huge sigh of relief, and rushed over to the chair, kneeling down in front if him, and pressing my fingers to his neck.
"Thank god!" I nearly shouted, when I felt his pulse drumming against my fingers. I ran my fingers through his hair, and kissed his neck and forehead. I don't care how mad I was at him, no amount of anger I felt towards him would make me want him dead, or even hurt for that matter. "You nearly killed him!" I shouted at Louis.
"He's fine." He replied, barely audible. "Come over here, I need you to tell me what happened."
I nodded, and left Harry in a comfortable position. I obliged, and heading towards them.
