Kingsley Ford

"Mom, I'm back" I shouted while walking into the living room and setting my things down

"Kingsley!" mom shouted while running into the room with flour on her face and a big grin "I missed you!" She said while hugging me

"Mom, I've been gone for like two days" I said pulling away and rolling my eyes

"I don't care, I missed my baby" she said while kissing me all over my face

"I'm eighteen" I said, scrunching up my nose in disgust

"I'm not gonna have this chat with you again, where's your father?" She asked, while turning around and walking to the direction she came from

"He said he had business to do with the alpha, he'll be back before dinner"

"Oh okay,how was the trip? how is my other baby? I haven't seen her in a while"

"Layla's fine, I actually have something to tell you" I said while looking down at my shoes

"Okay, lets go to the patio, I made some tea and sugar cookies, we'll talk there" mom said, giving me a warm smile

"Okay sounds good"

I grabbed the plate of sugar cookies while mom grabbed the tea, on the way to the patio, I started to think of ways to tell mom about my mate situation, we set everything down and sat on the comfortable chairs. I sighed and opened my mouth to talk but nothing came out, I tried again but the same thing happened. I was ashamed, being rejected was very rare in our community, it was humiliating, everyone has mates, but my soulmate didn't accept our bond. I felt the waterworks starting, slowly, my eyes started tearing up

"Kingsley? Baby, are you okay?" Mom softly asked while rubbing my arm up and down

I shook my head no and broke down in front of my mom, tears were pouring out of my eyes, my shoulders were shaking uncontrollably, my heart felt heavy, it was like someone was squeezing it, and my wolf was howling sorrowfully, we were hurting and its all because of the man that was supposed to love me for a lifetime.

"Kingsley, whats wrong, honey?" Mom asked me again

I took a shaky deep breath in

"W-wh-en d-dad a-nd I w-went to t-he m-mee-t-ing, I m-m-et my m-ma-te"

"That's great sweetheart! Where is he?" Mom exclaimed

"He-"

"He's a shy one isn't he? Is he handsome? Of course he's handsome, he's mated to you!" Mom said while turning her head frantically, looking for my "mate"

"Mom-

"Where is he? And why are you crying? Did your father threaten him? Oh that man, I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind!" Mom said angrily while heading towards the door

"He's always protective of you, he's gonna be sorry when I'm done with him!" She shouted while waving her hands in the air

I quickly got up and went after her, I grabbed her shoulders and turned her around

"Mom, dad didn't do anything!" I yelled

"Then what? Spit it out, Kingsley!" She yelled back

"He rejected me!" I said softly while falling to the floor with tears running down my face

Mom quickly kneeled in front of me and pulled me in for a hug, I sobbed on her shoulders, I felt dizzy and out of breath, I hated this.

"Honey, maybe you should get some rest, you look exhausted we'll talk about this when your ready to talk about it" mom said in
a suggestive tone
