Layla Cortdale
"HAHAHA, oh thats a good one, dad" I laughed while clutching my stomach ,"you always were a jokester, that was hilarious" I said while sitting down on the sofa
"Layla, I'm not joking, the wedding will take place in two weeks, you and Theodore are getting married." He said while taking a seat on the sofa across from me
"Dad, cut it out, it's not funny anymore" I said through gritted teeth, my wolf and I already hated that guy and dad saying that we will marry him in two weeks is making things worse
"Layla! Does this look like I'm joking to you, you and Theodore are getting married and thats final!" He yelled while standing up
"Honey, calm down." Mom calmly said. She started to make smooth circles on dad's back, instantly his tensed body relaxed
"You can't do this to me! It's not fair!"
"I'm doing this for your protection!"
"Protection? I'm already protected, why do I need more protection?"
Dad sighed and slumped to the sofa, he looked at mom and she nodded her head and sat next to him while holding his hand
"Layla, sit down, your mother and I have something we need to tell you" he said
"Will you tell me whats been bothering you?" I asked, curiously
Dad nodded his head yes
I sat down, indian style, on the sofa I was originally sitting on. I nodded my head at dad to continue
"When I was little-"
"Great, its one of those stories" I mumbled, while putting an emphasis on 'those'
Dad glared at me,"just listen"
I put both my hands up in surrender and gestured my head at him to continue
"Anyways, when I was little, I had a best friend named Kyle. He-"
"Wait, I thought Nicole's dad and Kingsley's dad were your best friends?" I asked, confusedly
"They are, but I met them later in life, Kyle was my childhood friend and a dark memory. Now stop interrupting me and hold your questions til the end" he sighed
I nodded my head
"Kyle was a good person, he always puts others first before himself. He was the guy you can always count on, he would always make a promise and he kept it, he never backed out of his promises or did he ever break them. Anyways, everything has been good, Kyle and I were close to each other, we were inseparable, but once we hit high school, everything changed. I was the popular jock that had the looks and all the girls-"
I heard a snort, dad and I both turned and looked at mom, she was giving dad the death glare, but he pecked her lips and sat her down on his lap, I hope Xavier and I are like that.
"As I was saying, I was the popular jock, but Kyle became the outcast. Everything we did together, wether it was baseball, football or just hanging out with the guys, he would always be distant and looked like he had something in his mind. One night at a party, I saw him sitting down, looking nervous and frustrated. I went over to him to see what was up, he said that he loves a girl and he thinks they are mates, but he wasn't sure, he also told me to stay away from her because he didn't want me to take her away, so being a good friend, I did." Dad took a deep breath in and started growling, his eyes started to get black and tightened his hold on mom, she kissed his lips and pulled away. Dad started to calm down, but he pulled mom closer to his chest.
