Chapter 30

Kiera's POV

"Kiera hurry your butt up!" Maya calls to me.

I put on one last swipe of lipgloss and come out of the bathroom.

It's been a week since finals and me, Maya, Emmy, Beca, Kayden, Donald, Jesse, and Greg were all going to the beach.

Everyone else was already in the car waiting except Maya and Beca who were waiting for me.

I grab my light blue ray bands and we were out the door.

I was wearing a blue tank top that said beach lover in white letters, white shorts, blue sandals, and a coral colored bandeau styled bikini top with light blue floral style bikini bottoms with coral colored flowers.

We got in the car and started driving to the beach.

In 10 minutes we get there and start unloading the car.

We grabbed chairs, towels, umbrellas, and bags of snacks.

As soon as we set up everyone else ran to the water but I stayed in my chair and sat in the sun.

After like 5 minutes someone came up to me.

I look up. "Hey Greg." I say closing my eyes again.

"Aren't you gonna come swimming?" He asked.

"Nah." I said.

Suddenly I find myself being lifted off the ground and hoisted onto Greg's shoulder like I weighed nothing.

"Gah! Put me down!" I say.

"Nah." He said mockingly repeating what I said before.

He keeps walking forward until I hear splashing and see water.

"You wouldn't!" I said.

"Oh but I would." He replied and dropped me into the water.

I stay under for a while just to freak him out, I can hold my breath for a long time, and wait until he goes under to look for me.

Then I come up and wait till he does.

When he comes up he's turned around and I jump on his back and we both go under.

When we come back up I start laughing.

"You scared me!" He said.

"And that's what you get for throwing me in." I say smirking.

Then we go over to Maya, Kayden, Emmy, Donald, Beca, and Jesse and swim around.

Around sunset we started a fire and were eating and talking.

Greg stands up.

"Kiera do you wanna walk with me?" He asked me.

"Sure." I agreed standing up.

We walk a little ways down the beach until we get to this part where nobody is around.

We just walk in silence. Not an awkward silence, just enjoying each others company.

"Hey Kiera, I have something to tell you." Greg finally said.

"Yeah?" I ask kinda nervous.

"Well, um, the thing is, I kinda, really like you." He said nervously, looking down.

I think for a minute. About the whole year and everything that has happened. I realize I do have feelings for Greg.

Enough that I'm willing to risk getting hurt again.

I grab his hand and he looks up at me.

"I like you too." I said quietly.

He smiles. "Kiera, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.

"Yes." I say smiling.

He picks me up in a hug and spun me around in a circle.

He did like to do that a lot.

He put me down and looked into my eyes as I looked into his bright blue ones.

Before I knew it he pressed his lips to mine and it was just, perfect.
