The images that flashed in my head weren't mine. There's no possible way they could be.

I felt four feelings at once: Guilt, fear, aggression, and bloodlust. I wanted to taste blood.

I felt something like a pinch in my hind, then in slowly turned into an agonizing burning. I tried to open my eyes, to see where I was, but I couldn't.

Something smelled metallic. I had the taste in my mouth. I ached for more, but that need was slowly wearing off.

Why wasn't the pain going away now? What was happening to me?

Everything went black.

My eyes opened, slowly and painfully. Instantly, I was shocked with what I saw. Instead of seeing like a fucking normal human being, I saw .. More intense, colorful, and bright. The gray pavement in front of me was glowing, almost like the sun was reflecting very brightly off of it. The grass on the curb seemed to grow closer, and it was ten times greener.

What the actual hell was happening to me? I moved my body, which felt .. Somehow different. I furrowed by brows, and I staggered to my feet. Did I shrink? Why am I on all fours?

Wait a minute..

My eyes locked on not feet, but paws.

I opened my mouth and screamed, except it didn't come out as a scream. I was howling! What the serious holy fuck?! I thought in alarm, instantly jerking back and taking in deep gulps. I had to be dreaming.

"You aren't dreaming," a soft voice whispered.

I felt the air leave my chest and I shrunk down into a ball and looked around. Who said that? I wanted to yell, but disgruntled barks and whines came out instead.

"McKenzie .. I need you to calm down please. I understand you are scared and very, very confused, but please just turn around," the same voice spoke again, this time much more gentle and reassuring. Something made me want to trust her, it.

I swallowed and closed my eyes for a hard moment, debating whether or not to listen to the voice. After what seemed like hours of self-arguing, I straitened my body out got to my feet -no, paws- and slowly turned around.

As I made a full turn, I took the opportunity to take a look at my appearance. My legs and paws were covered with white fur, and my tail was white on the underside, but on top I saw grey and black mottled fur. Why so familiar? I wondered, focusing on my tail for a brief moment before turning my head.

My eyes locked into a body! A body! Not just any body, but my body. No. Fucking. Way.

This is just a dream.

"I am afraid that it is not a dream, McKenzie," the voice murmured solemnly. "That is your body."

Who the fuck are you? Why are you in my head? I demanded, my lips curling back. I realized I was snarling at the air, so I quickly stopped that.

"It is not so much who is in your head .. But you being in mine."

Excuse me?
