So, I lied there in my motel bed in my normal day clothes, and staring up at the white ceiling. I was thinking hard, and trying to think as hard as I can to understand this whole 'half-blood, Greek myths are real, we're half-bloods' thing. This was sort of, in a way, scary and fascinating. We all knew our lives would be never normal again, and we would be in danger now. How do I know? Well, duh! I told you I was a mega- Greek mythology fan. It has happened in every book, movie and story. There were some myths about half-bloods being attacked. Once I know, my sent will grow stronger, and more appealing to monsters until I train in camp Half-blood in New York. That's what they told me, at least.
Molly came out from a second room, and suggested we go to sleep. Derek came out of the bathroom, and started arguing. "Hey, i'm older. I should say that!" She responded "Ugh! You are babyish." They argued for two minutes until I screamed "Hey! Both of you two say it together if you both want to say it on your own! I'm going to get changed." I went into the bathroom, and came out in my pajamas holding my day clothes. It was a good thing I have three flashlights. One bright one for emergencies, one with a bright, medium, and dull settings on it, and a dull one in case the second flashlight went out.
I grabbed the second flashlight, my 'Greek Mythology 101 : Book Of All Greek Mythologies Ever', and took it on the bed. Setting the flashlight to 'dull', I began reading the table of contents. Ah! I tuned to page six-hundred-fifty-three. This book was a big, old looking, blueish green, book with three thousand pages in it. The page I turned to was in the book of "Half-Bloods, demigods, and Mortals'. It was the twenty eighth book in the fat book. I was reading a chapter about 'Thalia Pine Grace'. She was the girl in the next room we met. The book showed a pictures of her. One was her as a tree, another was her at Camp Half-Blood in her orange t-shirt (which she had drew black and red sculls at the bottom. I read it very carefully a few times. It read 'THALIA PINE GRACE : DAUGHTER OF ZEUS. DAUGHTER OF THE SKY. A PUNK ROCK, GOTH GIRL.' It kept on going on and on, about the adventures. Finally, I got to the part of where she was turned into a tree. I read until three in the morning.
Yawn! Jessica got me up, again. The others were sitting in a circle talking about how this might not be real, but instead a hokes. "People! I think this is! I have a theory." I walked over hugging the book in my arms. "Come! Sit in our circle of discussion!" They said. I sat and started reading and showing them my presentation. you have to say, I was pretty prepared. I had wrote stuff on papers, and sticky notes were placed in the book. "You see, Thalia, you remember her right?"
"The Thalia in the myth, or the the one we met recently? Thalia is one very popular name." Peyton asked.
"The one we met. If you look in the book-" The others, except Peyton, didn't know there was a Thalia in the book. I started opening it and showing them the pictures, sticky notes, and reading them parts of the story. "Anyways, see? This is Thalia Pine Grace. The bag this one had, read that. This also talked about the monsters, the Greeks moving to America, the camp, and everything. We walked outside. The half-bloods came home from doing whatever. It wasn't like I followed them all day to see where they went. They were running to us, and then they stopped. "Hey, we need to get you and us, to New York and back. You all need to train, we need to come back in a month with a few of each cabin. Sorry to end your trip." Percy informed us. Peyton's bag fell, and her folder fell out. Thalia looked at her name, and back up at her. "Oh my Gods! Tara?!?!" She looked at Paige and said "You must be Echo!" The Greeks (I sometimes call them) all were shocked.
"Um, her name is Peyton, and that is Paige. Tara and Echo is their middle names." I corrected her.
"Tara and Echo is their real names. Peyton and Paige is their middle names. That's what they go by, though." She told us.
"So, you have heard of them? You know them? What's going on? I'd like to know, please." The anticipation was killing me.
"Well, They are the blessed daughters of Ares. There was a word around from Ares herself, that when they grew up and found out who they were, they'd become the strongest mortals. When they were younger, they fought a beast. Mrs. Crockett." Annabeth explained. They remembered the second grade teacher, because they made fun of her, and beat her up once.
We packed, and was about to go to the airport. all of the sudden, it got dark, a giant, huge, shadow covered us. It's stomps vibrated the ground. The creature bed down, and reached for me. It had one eye. One thing came to mind; it was a cyclops. Tyson was one too, and he wasn't dangerous. However, most of them are. They're monsters, you got to remember. "No, no, no. Bad boy. Don't you do it, she's our friend. Please just-" Tyson started talking. The monster picked me up, and Tyson kept saying things like "No, please, just put her down, bud." It set me in it's palm and put me on the ground. "RRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It stomped away. "That was close!" Annabeth stated. "Next time, we might not get so lucky. We best stick together!" We kept walking down the brownish, rock, path. It was silenced for ten minutes, when I finally, decided to speak. "So, who are your parents? You never talked about that."
"Oh, well. Annabeth is the daughter of Athena. Thalia is of-" Percy started to say. Thalia cut him off again.
"One again, quit announcing me! I can do it myself! I'm the daughter of Zeus!" Nico couldn't tell us, for whatever reason we didn't understand. He was most likely the son of one of 'The Big Three'. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon weren't allowed to have children, so that's what they were called.
"What about you?" I asked Percy.
"Poseidon. me and Tyson are." I started wondering about that. "But, they're 'The Big Three'. He answered, "They had children anyways, despite that oath." We got to the airport, did the usual; show them the passport, book the flight, wait, get the bags inspected. We were just about to board when another monster stroked us. Annabeth was right; we wouldn't get so lucky next time. This creature was a goat, lion, and snake. The head was lion, the back was goat, and the tail was a five-foot long rattle snake hissing, and rattling. Thalia shouted out "Chimera!". Apparently, it was the name of the monster. Percy pulled out a pen and uncapped it. I was wondering what he was doing, but then the pen he calls 'Riptide' transformed into a three-foot long sword. He kept threatening to hit it with the Riptide. "Um, okay, I am pretty sure, that won't work." Annabeth told him. The Chimera gave a louder roar than the cyclops did. Anxiously, we stepped back, as it came forward. It stomped, and We all fell. "No!" We all screamed as it was about to attack. Quickly thinking, I grabbed Percy's Riptide, and started making movements to distract it, so the others could get up. Finally, I started singing softly to myself, as I do when I get scared. Calming down, it stepped back, and started falling asleep. The others stood up, and had amazed expressions on their faces. "How did you-" Percy started asking. I cut off. "I don't know. I just did it. It was just something that happened. I sing to myself whenever I get scared. I guess he liked it." we all gave a big cheer, but then I realized something; Nico wasn't up cheering. I looked on the ground for a few seconds. He was by the door lying down. Bloody scratches and scrapes were all over is body. I put some water on them. On his neck was one big scratch. He wasn't breathing at all. He started becoming icey cold. I couldn't help thinking about the worst. "No, no, no. Please wake up. " Percy started demanding him. "I think we lost him. Sorry, trooper." I gave him the bad news. He started cursing in Greek, then stopped and sped talked to me. "If it isn't bad enough that I was supposed to watch over his sister, and we lost her, watching over him was my last chance, and he died! No!" He started crying a bit. Then, he stopped. "Let's go. We got a mission, and I can't afford to lose the rest of it." He instructed us. The people in the airport were huddling in a corner. They all took a deep breath. We all convinced them that they were just dreaming or something. I though it was funny that they believed us, and got everything back up and running. We boarded the plane.
On the plane, I took a deep breath myself, and then I pulled out my big book. "What's that?" Percy asked.
"It's Greek Mythology 101. The book of all Greek mythology story and figure ever. " Then I showed Thalia, whom was sitting next to me, the story about her. She was amazed, and started touching her pictures. She wiped her finger underneath her name.
