As we were walking, we were all talking all about this trip. Shortly, we got some unwanted company. Clarisse was very quiet until that happened. She was sent to us a few days ago, around the same time the hunters came. She started whispering to herself "Stupid, big touch wannabe-" Percy gasped. "I thought monsters reformed in like, two thousand years."
"What is it?" I asked.
"The Minotaur! I fought that like two years ago. It moves slowly and can't just turn. So, you know what to do."
"Um, I guess we'll turn directly and do everything it can't."
"Someone's got to get up behind it with their sword! I'll distract it." Me and Clarisse both did the part where we get up behind it. This time, it seemed better, though. It was as if it were trained to fix some of the flaws. "It's able to turn now!" I screamed. The others cursed in ancient Greek. I don't know what the mortals saw, but they ran away. There's a special mist that only one person can see through.
Anyways, We were just about to stab it, when it turned around and tripped us onto the dirt, rock path. I coughed the dirt out of my mouth. "Jaimee!" Peyton Tara shouted. She came to assist me, and help me up. My arms and legs were scraped badly. Not as badly as one of my arms, though. That was all bloody. There were two people helping me up, I thought that it was one of my friends, but the girl had red hair. Percy had described one girl who could see through the mist as this. I knew who it was. "Rachel Elizabeth Dare?" Percy asked.
"So we meet again. Percy Jackson, or Percy gotta-go. "
"go home! It's not safe! You're not one of us!"
"So?"
"I mean it! You have to be one of us to fight like this!" The Minotaur went to go after me, but then Derek jumped in front of it last second. Striking him instead, he fell down. I started crying. "No! All just to help me? I should have died! Not you!" Percy and Rachel kept up their argument.
"No I don't!" She took a sword out of my hand, and started swatting at the Minotaur. Clarisse helped out. They stabbed it into the stomach. We all watched as its horns fell into their stomachs. I thought of it like karma but then I realized they were gone.Their bellies were bloodied badly. There was just nothing we could or could have done. We all cried a bit, put a flower on each of them, and then went onto the plane. A tear rolled down my cheek as I waved Mount Olympus 'bye'. Percy kept rambling on and on to himself. "I told her it wasn't safe! Why is she so stubborn? Why does she have to make everything worse? Tell me!" I told him that it was her fault, and there was nothing we could have done. Except for, I could have stopped Derek from jumping in front of me. Percy blamed himself fr me getting hurt. Everyone pretty much did.
When we got back, we told Chiron and Mr. D about what happened. Chiron told us that life was just ' a long journey'. This was a half-blood's journey. Well, okay, multiple half-blood's and a satyr's journey.
