A/N This is one of my favourite books 'Carry on by Rainbow Rowell'

When the figure steps forward, I recognize him at once.

Tall. Black hair swept back from his forehead. Lips curled up in a sneer... I know that face as well as my own.

Baz.

I stand up too quickly, knocking my chair over. Across the room, a mug falls to the floor and shatters - I glance over and see that Agatha is standing, too.

Baz steps towards us.

Ba-

I tear my gaze from my book to my buzzing phone. Dylan's face flashes and his name screams across the screen.

I quickly fold the corner of page '150' and put it down. I scramble to my phone and slid the accepting button.

After a few moments Dylan's face pops up with a massive smile slapped across it.

"Hey baby." I haven't heard his voice since yesterday, yet it feels like forever.

"Hey Dyl." I give him a small wave and we just sit and stare at each other for a while. I feel tears build up in my eyes but I make sure they don't fall.

I force a smile. "So... Babe, what you doing?"

"I just finished a scene and I'm in between takes. I missed your voice so much, so I decide to call you. Is that okay?" I see the shine of concern in his eyes.

"I miss you too, Dyl." I can't hold it back anymore. I feel a wet tear slid down my face and I quickly reach up and wipe it away.

I see Dylan's goofy smile slowly shrink and it turns into a frown. "Y/N? What's wrong? Are you hurt? Are you feeling well? Has a zombie apocalypse start over there and your about to tell me you ate the cat next door? Because if it is, it's okay. I never like that cat anyway."

I laugh through the tears at Dylan's zombie joke. This is one of the many, many reasons I love Dylan, he can always make me happy when I feel down. "I'm fine, no zombie bites I promise." I see the smile form on his face when he sees me laugh and my heart melts. "It's just the 'over there' part that I don't like. If there was a zombie apocalypse you wouldn't know because you're over there, not here with me. I just miss the feeling of your arms around me, I miss the security it provides me, I miss hearing your voice next to me, I miss being able to run my hands through your messy hair, I miss feeling of the warmth beside me when your next to me, I miss hearing you sexy morning voice when I wake up, I miss the feeling of your lips against mine, I miss being able to take care of you when you're sick, I miss your annoying pranks, I miss our Friday star wars movie marathons, I miss holding your hand in public, I miss playing dot to dot with the moles on your cheeks when your asleep, I miss being able to tease you when you're horny, I miss making love with you and I-I- I just miss you so much."

Dylan doesn't speck right away. He just stares blankly at me before smiling softly. "I-I didn't know you felt like that. I didn't know you felt the exact same way as me. I thought I was being stupid, I thought I was the last thing on your mind. I miss you so bad right now. I love you so so so much, so so much. I'll be home soon, I promise." He blows me a kiss, but it isn't the same. It can never be the same.

"I love you too Dyl."

Dylan smiles at me before turning his head. I hear a faint voice in the background. Dylan turns back with a sad smile. "Babe, Jeff needs me for the next scene. I have to go."

"Love you Dyl, bye."

Dylan's POV

"... I miss you so bad right now. I love you so so so much, so so much. I'll be home soon, I promise." I blow her a kiss, but it isn't the same as kissing her, it never will be.

She smiles her beautiful smile. "I love you too Dyl."

"Dylan, Dylan." Holland whispers behind me. I turn around and see her bending down so she can't be seen by the camera. "I found it, I kept the page open on your laptop screen. I have to go back on set. I'll see you soon." I smile at her and nod. She runs out of my trailer.

I turn back to my beautiful girlfriend. "Babe, Jeff needs me for the next scene. I have to go. Love you bye."

"Love you Dyl, bye." A second later her face disappears from the screen and I sigh already missing the twinkle in her eyes.

I shove my phone in my pocket and run over to my couch where Holland left my laptop. I pick it up and place it on my lap.

Sure enough the tab is open for a plane ticket from L.A. to NY, where my baby is.

I quickly shoot the cursor across the screen and buy the ticket.

"I'm coming home baby."
