"I laugh when people say that they've fallen in love at first sight.
Or even when a person exclaims they have fallen for someone in a fortnight.
All I question is "how can you fall in love so quickly?"
Because true love is never that sickly.
I can surely propose that I never fell for you on that midsummer night.
And that you were definitely far from becoming a knight.
My heart did not beat faster because you looked like you were carved from marble.
Nor did I love you because you were a superhero created by Marvel.
But instead I gracefully fell for you over numerous warm days.
Maybe that is why our love has become such a blaze.
I loved you slowly consuming every single feature that made you who you are.
Remember when you dodged the holes in the road because I was asleep in your car?
I noticed how cheeks became a gentle rose colour when you laughed.
I became devoted to you, I overheard some people say it was like witchcraft.
When I felt your arms wrap around me, it felt like a thousand flowers had begun to bloom.
I suppose that's why we ended up intertwining our souls within the bedroom.
Looking back, I've noticed that you were the love of my life.
And now you're gone, it's probably the reason why I'm alone with a knife."
