The Freak

Chapter 5 : The enrollment

As the Freak opens his eyes, he finds himself in a hospital bed, all patched up, with the chain from his right arm gone, then he tries to get up "Ouch... That hurts" he says, as he feels the pain of the wounds. He sits up and sees a man sitting in a chair, next to the bed, and the Freak asks - "Who are you?" the man anwsers - "You can call me Kyshimo" the Freak gets out of the bed and walks toward the window to take a look - its raining. Kyshimo - "You know, if you move too much you will open the wounds" the Freak asks "Why am I here?" Kyshimo - "Well, we need you to work for us" the Freak asks - "What do you do in this work of yours?" Kyshimo - "Well, we save people like you, and kill the guys that were hunting you in the forest" the Freak remembers and asks - "Is the girl alright?" Kyshimo - "She is, thanks to you, she told me everything that happened, why did you save her?" the Freak anwsers - "I don't know..." Kyshimo - "Hmm... well, whatever, it doesn't matter now, so will you work for us?" the Freak responds with a question - "What is the purpose of your work?" Kyshimo anwsers - "Freedom" the Freak - "There is no freedom in this cursed world..." Kyshimo - "So, will you work for us?" the Freak - "What happens if I don't?" Kyshimo - "Well you will probably be taken by the Hunters" the Freak - "The Hunters?" Kyshimo - "Yes, the same people that were chasing you, they are a group that hunt down people like you, kill you, and take you apart piece by piece" the Freak stays silent for a while gazing trough the window as Kyshimo asks - "Right, I almost forgot, whats your name?" the Freak - "My name... I don't remember..." Kyshimo - "Then let me think of a name for you... I know, what about Kanoji?" the Freak doesn't respond. Kyshimo - "I'll take that, as a yes, oh and by the way, do you mind telling me why you escape in the first place?" the Freak - "Because I saw a white figure that wanted me to follow, and I just felt that, that was what I needed to do" Kyshimo - "When you were patched up the nurses found scars that looked like the numbers 2065 on your back, do you know what they mean?" The Freak - "That's the year I was captured" Kyshimo thinks - "He was tortured for about 10 years?" The Freak gazes into the horizon, not saying a word. Kyshimo - "For now, get some rest and I will come back in a few days when you heal up" Kyshimo leaves the room. The Freak says to himself silently - "My name is..." the Freak feels pain and grabs his head unable to remember but sees the white figure in the room with him that moves his lips not making a sound and the Freak is able to tell his words - "Hyro...". As Kyshimo is walking down the coridor he takes out his phone and calls someone. Kyshimo - "It's definantly him" The stranger - "And did he agree to join us?" Kyshimo - "Yes, however it seems like he doesn't remember who he is. The stranger - "That's for the better, introduce him to the elites and start work as soon as he is ready" Kyshimo - "Understood". Meanwhile at the Wolf's headquarters they are questioning all the Freaks about, how they got there and about how did the Hunters abandon the hangar. As all of the people are questioned, the old man was the only one left and the Wolf commander asked - "What do you know about the Freak?" the old man told a story that made the commander shiver of out fear - "The Freak... When I was brought in the hangar the other prisoners told me that behind the door is a devil, the Hunters tortured us all, but not like him... It was as if he was special, all the prisoners knew when he was brought in, they said that he didn't even scream once, most the Hunters gave up on torturing him, but one didn't... you could hear the blood dripping, the skin slashing from the other side of the door, and the numbers that were on the door 5034 were all the times he was tortured, day and night, not giving him any rest, almost killing him, but he didn't scream, not once as if his mouth was sowed shut. The Hunters left a few days before you came to the hangar, the Hunters did everything they could to lock up the Freak, not letting him ever leave that chamber" The Wolf commander was shocked, but did what he had to - "Is-Is that it?" The old man - "That's all I know, I don't know how the Freak got there, or why. And I think all the others told you about how we were tortured" the commander - "Very well, thank you, you will get further instructions in the room on the left" And so the day came to an end, but the commander couldn't help but wonder - "Who... is... that... Freak..."
