Chapter 8: The past shadow

As Kanoji leaves the room scared and he heads outside of the FCO's headquaters and finds out that they are in a remote place with no buildings in sight, not a single human he takes a deep breath and starts walking into the forest where their base is near, he was scared, but nobody unterstood why. As he walks further into the forest he feels as if he is being followed, but as he turns around and looks he doesn't see anyone. This makes him even more uneasy, as he walks by a tree he sees the white ghost and tries to follow him, but as much as he tries, there is no way he can get close to him. Now he is lost, following that ghost he wasn't looking at the way he was going. The ghost stands in a distance and waves to Kanoji to come. He nods and follows him, suddently he hears a tree branch breaking and cathes a glimpse of a dark figure, he was indeed being followed, Kanoji ignores the fact and keeps following the ghost. After some time walking trough the forest the ghost stops and points to some old wooden, burnt down house. Kanoji doesn't understand, but by now he isn't scared anymore, he walks closer to the ruins and the ghost dissapears, as Kanoji says - "Wait!".The ghost is now gone. Kanoji decides to investiagate the ruins as he gets a flashback of his memory, his heads starts hurting and he sees himself, at a young age running towards the same house and seeing it burning with men standing infront of it and laughing, the flashback ends. Kanoji asks himself - "Was... that me?". It starts raining and Kanoji just stands in the rain, soaking wet, confused with what he has just remembered. As the rain starts dripping from the trees he hears someone walking toward him, he turns around and sees a man dressed all black, aproach Kanoji and say - "So you're the one, huh?" Kanoji asks confused - "The one?" the stranger - "Come with me and I'll explain who burned you're house" Kanoji now sees that the mans hands are bloody and doesn't say anything just says politely - "No thanks, I need to go back to my base" and starts walking past the man. Now the man starts laughing - "To those rats? is that where they keep the great Haro?" Kanoji asks surprised - "How do you know that name?" the stranger - "Like I said, if you come with me I will tell you everything you want to know" but Kanoji ignores the temptation to go with the man, he knew that he would remeber his past eventually. As Kanoji walks past the man the man grabs Kanoji by his shoulder not facing him and says - "If you don't come with me my boss will be very angry" Kanoji - "Tell him I'm not interested" the stranger lets go of Kanoji and pulls out a gun and says - "I'm afraid I can't do that, you see, my orders were to bring you dead or alive" Kanoji now scared tries to run but gets shot in the leg and falls to the ground screaming with intense pain as the stranger walks towards Kanoji and says - "You like that? That's a bullet filled with a substance that when it gets warmth it expands, just like what's happening inside your leg right now" Kanoji asks barely able to stand the pain of his leg being ripped apart from inside - "Who is your boss?" the stranger - "I think you should know him I don't know his real name, but he calls himself - The Doctor" Kanoji - "The doctor? How could I know him?" the stranger - "Come on, don't you remember who saved your life? It was when you were about 16 and got..." he gets interruped by a knife coming right at him, he dodges it, but the knife falls near Kanoji and he hears a familiar voice shouting - "Cut that bullet out now, before it rips your leg off!" the stranger - "Pfft, Kyshimo..." Kanoji grabs the knife not waisting a minute and starts cutting the bullet out, but gets interrupted by the stranger as he takes the knife from Kanoji's hand and says - "I'll be taking this" and as Kyshimo sends a wave of water to the stranger, the stranger says - "Well, we'll continue this another time" and dissapears into thin air. Kanoji now in terrible agony tries to rip the bullet out with his arms, when he sees the ghost facing him, not moving a muscle, but slowly turning his head away from Kanoji as Kanoji losses his consciousness and hears an ekkoing voice - "Kanoji! Kano...ji!..." And he passes out.
