I couldn't believe this, I was feeling more rage than I ever had before. It was like spending 15 years not knowing what music sounds like;
You just go on your merry way, ignoring the fact that youve never heard it. Then you hear it and you feel like you should be happy. Really happy. But you feel so angry. Angry and helpless. All because you went so long not knowing what it is like. You just want to yell, and kick, and scream at the person who kept you from it all those years.
My mum looked shocked when Imogen took a step out from behind me. She obviously thought I would be alone. Wrong. I took Imogen's hand and pulled her through my house to my room. I faced the wall, holding my breath. I didn't her to see me break down. "Two times in one week" I thought, fiddling with my bracelets. I ended up tracing my scars.
"Um, Andi?" Imogen whispered, the rain had started again. She took three steps through my small bedroom over to the window, pulled it shut and continued.
"Can you tell me what just happened?" Her voice was warming despite the fact she was sopping wet and shivering from our little rain dance.
"Actually, no. Dont tell me. Not right now anyway. Just please turn around so I can see your beautiful face." She gently touched my shoulder and I turned to face her.I sat down and shook at the complement I didn't believe, warm tears dripping off my eyelashes and down my cheeks.
Imogen sat next to me and started to pull off my wet jacket.
"Thanks but don't bother" I said coldly.
"Do you want to stay at my place tonight?" She asked me, not affected by my icy tone.
"You know what?" I started, wiping my eyes "I would love that."
"Come on then" Imogen said, jumping up "wait. How is your mum going to know where you are?"
"I'll leave her a note." I said grabbing my journal from under the mountain of pillows on my bed and tearing out a page to write on;Mum, I went to stay at a friends house. I just can't be here right now. DON'T call. -Andi
"Come on, out this way" I said pushing the window open again.
We climbed out of the first floor window and dropped down into the rain.
"So where is your house?" I asked, preparing to jump the side fence into the lane.
"Um, Ardross crescent, in Collingwood park" she said, trying to figure out which way that is.
"Its, ah-choo!" I sneezed and wiped my nose "this way" I motioned down the road leading into the dark.Author's note:
