Who's With You-Know-Who?

   I opened my mouth to scream but nothing came out. How? What happened? Karkaroff? If you couldn't tell before, I was shocked.

   Karkaroff looked around and laughed. "Nice group you got here." He said. "I was wondering when you'd be done." He laughed again. Voldemort had a look of pride on his face.

   I hung there, not knowing what to do. I had been kidnapped by Voldemort, I was hanging upside by a rope from the ceiling, without my wand, and the headmaster of my school was on the dark lord's side.

   Great. Life was just great.

   They continued talking as they started to walk towards the other side of the cave. This is my big chance. I thought. I spotted a stalactite hanging from the ceiling. I started wriggling, which caused me to start swinging back and forth. I kept going, until the rope hit the stalactite and snapped.

   I fell to the ground and grabbed my wand. "What was that crash?" I heard Karkaroff yell.

   I quickly searched for a hiding spot and dove behind a rock. I heard footsteps running my way. "She's missing!" I heard Karkaroff yell to Voldemort. "How could that have happened?" Voldemort shouted back.

   I remembered something. The invisibility potion! I reached into my back pocket, still wondering why it didn't fall out like my wand. But at that point, I really didn't care.

   I only have enough to last me an hour. I thought. Use it wisely. I popped the cap off, and chugged the whole thing. Almost as quickly as I drank it, I was gone.

By then, Voldemort had rushed up to Karkaroff. They were both circling the room in search of me.

Even though I knew that I was invisible, I stayed behind the rock. I waited until they both had their backs turned until I stood up.

I slowly made my way across the floor,being careful with each step I took so I didn't make a sound. A thought struck me. I could hex them now, knock them out, and free the other students.

It was dangerous, but as crazy as I am, I was willing to try.

I took out my wand and made my way over to Voldemort. I was about 10 feet away now. I was scared out of my mind. Would he notice me? If yes, then I was dead meat.

I took a deep breath before pointing my wand at Voldemort and whispering "duro!"

   I was expecting him to turn to solid stone, because that's what that charm is supposed to do, but I must've whispered a little too loudly because he whirled around and blocked my charm.

   I was taken aback. I wasn't quite expecting that.

   I remembered I was still invisible so I ran as fast as I could in the other direction and not once did I look back. I heard Voldemort call Karkaroff's name at least twice, but he didn't respond.

   I didn't stop running until I was out of the cave. Only then did I pause to sit down and gather myself again, just as the invisibility potion started to wear off and I was visible again.

   "Rose!" Yelled a familiar voice.

   I recognized it immediately.

   "Viktor!" I yelled back. "Where are you?"

   "Up here!"

   I looked up. In a nearby tree, there he was. Sitting on branch looking at me with a big smile plastered on his face.

   He jumped down and we ran together and he hugged me. I squeezed back.

   "What happened?" I asked him.

   "Well, I was hanging in Voldemort's cave, until he left saying he was going to get you next." He told me. "I panicked and I kept squirming in the ropes until they loosened and I fell so I grabbed my wand and left to here." I nodded in understanding as he finished.

   "And what happened to you?" He asked me. "I kept hearing yells and screams down there but I couldn't make any words out."

 
   "I can answer that." Said an oily voice from behind me.

   Viktor's expression suddenly turned to horror and I looked behind me just as Voldemort pulled out his wand.
