It took me by surprise. I didn't think he would come back after everyone already knew what he was doing. The last thing I saw before we apparated, was Karkaroff running back to see what was wrong with a horrified look on his face. I had this feeling in my gut. It wasn't a good feeling.

When we got to our destination, Voldemort turned to me and gave a toothy grin. "Welcome." He said rather unpleasantly. For the first time, I looked at my surroundings. We were in a dark cave with only one light source: a candle in the middle of the room. I didn't know exactly where this cave was, but I think we were still in Bulgaria.

Suddenly, Voldemort started walking with long strides towards the back of the cave. I stood there not wanting to know what he was doing. But when I heard the deep grunt of his voice, "Follow me." I knew I had no choice but to do what he said.

We kept walking deeper into the cave when he suddenly halted in front of me. I looked down and there in the ground was a giant hole. I could hear lots of voices chatting.

He turned to me and told me to jump down there. Well, him being a dark wizard and all... I didn't exactly trust him. Anyway, I ended up doing what he said. I jumped down the hole and there, all hanging upside down in ropes from the ceiling, were the missing students.

I kept looking around, hoping to find Viktor. I had almost scanned the entire room, when Voldemort turned to me. "What do you see?" He questioned. Not knowing why he asked that, I replied "my friends from school."

"Do you know why they are here?" He asked. "Not exactly." I told him. "They are here, because they have chosen to be here." A surprised look appeared on my face. I turned to him. Was he lying? I knew there was no way of telling.

"Then why have you brought me here?" I asked him. He just smirked and said. "You may not know it, but you hold great power." I am taken aback. Once again, no way of telling the truth from the lie.

Suddenly, a voice from the front of the cave sounded. "Voldemort! Where are you? It's me!" It shouted. Voldemort turned and narrowed his eyes at me. He waved his wand and uttered a spell I couldn't make out, and suddenly, I was too, hanging by a rope from the ceiling and my wand dropped out of my pocket and onto the floor. He smirked, pivoted, and walked in long strides toward the mouth of the cave.

I still couldn't tell if he was telling the truth or not. Then, a thought struck me. VIKTOR. If he is here, did he choose to be here? I couldn't imagine him doing something like that.

These thoughts kept swarming my head until I heard a pair of footsteps coming back. I just listened to them as they got closer and closer. The crunch of the footsteps on the cave floor suddenly halted. I craned my neck to look at who it was.

Voldemort. And- wait. Who was that he was with? I twisted my neck a little bit more to make out the face.

I couldn't believe my eyes.

Karkaroff.
