Dedicated to adaliaisnotcool for being awesome (and because this chapter doesn't clear much up either)
"you threw the gun into the water to save me- why would you do that?" Edward asked as he drove.
"I don't know, I - left here- guess I didn't want to see you in prison -slow down a bit! God, you can't drive- and I supposed, for some reason, there's a bit of me that still trusts you -It's 40 miles per hour down here, idiot, not 50- you are my elder brother after all -turn right here- so, yeah."
"That... Was a lovely thing to say." Edward said.
"Well, maybe, but even I can drive better than you." I said.
"No- I mean what you said about not wanting to see me in prison- that you still kind of trust me."
"It's probably a big mistake." I said.
"Wait, you can drive?" Edward asked, finally realising what I said.
"Yeah, and a whole lot better than you." I replied.
"Well, I did fail my test three times." he admitted.
"Three?? You've only been allowed to drive for three years."
"Yeah.. I haven't taken my fourth test." Edward admitted.
I couldn't help it. I laughed.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
"You try to be so different from us... So proper.." I laughed. "And yet, here you are, with a gun, shooting people, and failing driving tests but driving anyway!"
"I don't get how that's so funny." Edward said.
"You really are just like Seb." I laughed.
"What?" he asked, confused.
"Long story. Turn left."
...
Seb looked surprisingly small in his hospital bed. The room was too white, too quiet despite the beeping of the various machines. Seb looked so out of place, his chest covered in bandages.
Edward looked like he was about to break down. "I... I did this... Didn't I..?"
There was no point in lying to him "Yes, yes you did."
"I'm so, so sorry." he started crying again.
"Eddie?" I asked tentatively, almost scared of what I was about to do. "Do you want to stay with me until Seb's better- I mean, it'd be pretty lonely for me now otherwise." I said quickly, so it didn't seem like I was doing it out of being kind.
"You'd trust me enough?" he asked, amazed.
"Not really, but- 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer' and all that." I said.
Suddenly he hugged me. God, I hate being shorter than both of my brothers. It's so annoying.
Now... who got the blinkingly obvious (pun intended) Doctor Who quote?
