Uncontrollable Anxiety

Nancy's POV:

That night after having dinner,I went back to my bedroom. I switched on my bedside lamp and started reading the novel that I had borrowed from the 'Readers Place' library which was just at stone's throw distance from my house.

Tring tring.....

My phone rings......
I slide on my mobile screen to pick up the call.
"Babes,its me.....Veronica."

"Hey. How are you?"I asked.

"Chuck that. Listen we three are on conference call",Nicholas interrupted.

"We both have decided a sleep over at your place tomorrow."

"All of a sudden?Is everything alright with both of you?Any serious issue?"

"Stop stop stop!There are announcements to be made!Plus we want to know how many more brownie points you earned for yourself in front of Zach"

"Shut up Veronica! There is nothing of that sort. I am not doing anything to impress him to earn any kind of brownie points. I am just simply working under him. Nothing more."

"We can discuss this tomorrow.
Get some arrangements done. We will have barbeque party at your house," replied Veronica.

"What is it about the announcement?", I asked inquisitively.

Laters baby",Nicholas spoke.

"Yeah Laters!Good night!And don't dream about him!" I heard Veronica giggle.

"Night you both", and I hung up.

And that adds to another surprise. Lot more anxiety to be controlled till tomorrow.

I held the book back in hand to continue from where I left.
But thoughts drifted my mind.
My mind was filled with pool of thoughts thinking about what surprise Zach Branson ,my boss would give me and what was the announcement Veronica wanted to make.

Thinking Thinking...

And the book fell on my nose and forehead. With that I opened my eyes only to close them again and my fingers searched for the button to switch off the bed side lamp.

I know the surprise is not out yet.
