Bakes Crums Chocolates and Cakes

Nancy's POV:

I had taken an off from the office for tomorrow.
I needed a refresher break.
I was happy to get into my bed thinking that I could enjoy the long sleep without the hindrance of an alarm clock.

Time:Mid-night

"Happy birthday", all shouted in my ear in unison!
"Shit",you all scared the hell out of me!
"Thank you lovie dovies!"
Suddenly this big room of mine faced the challenge to fit in all my near and dear ones which included my parents, Nicholas,Rickey,Vinny,Veronica,Gio,
and Jaz.

"Happy birthday my dearest only daughter!"my dad wished me and kissed my forehead.

They room was filled with balloons and paper crafts which I guess were made by all of my friends under the guidance of my artist friend Veronica!

I cut the cake which was specially baked by Jaz since he was the bakery expert.

The next morning when I woke I had many texts,out of which one was from Zach.I thought,just like other texts,it would be a 'Happy Birthday,May god bless you' text.
But when I opened it,it was just a simple,'Gm.Can you call me up?'text.
This message was like the odd man out!

My eyes went on the checking out the right corner of my phone as it showed me 8 am and I decided to call him up.

"Hello"
"Good morning Nancy"
"Coming to office right?"
"I am on leave today"
"Actually I needed your help today!"
How dare he utter that!My temperament started boiling up. Its my birthday today.Firstly,he forgets to wish me on my birthday ,and secondly he asks me to help him out when I already have an approved leave in my hand for today!
Having no option to sound positive I asked him what it was.
"We had a client meet today.I wanted you to accompany me at the business lunch."
"Where is it and at what time is it scheduled?"
"I'll come to pick you up at twelve."

"Alright.I'll be ready by then."

And we hung up.

It was ten minutes to twelve!
I was ready with my office bag.
I went outside my house waiting for him.
Here he arrives!He was wearing a simple Lenin white shirt which had already started distracting me.
Focus!I said to myself.
I sat in his car.
"Hi Nancy"
"Hi"
After that there was pin drop silence for half an hour!
I was in no mood to start any discussion because he was the rigid boss that asked me come for a business meet on my birthday that too when I had got the leave approved in advance.
I fell asleep I don't know how but may be due to this sedate environment that I was into.

When I woke up all I could see is stretches of tall green coniferous trees  running parallel on both sides of roads.This serene unruffled place got my into its charm.

"Beautiful nature at its best!"I exclaimed.

"Done with your nap?"

"Oops!Sorrry"I replied,"If I am not wrong we had a client meeting right?And If I am not wrong,we are not anywhere near the periphery of city?"

"Nancy,you are not at all wrong ,is what I would tell you at the moment.Wait for sometime more we are about to reach."

We changed our direction and took a dirt road and I didn't have the guts to ask him again about where he was taking me since he already challenged my patience.
Within the next five minutes the firing of engine stopped and he asked me to come out of the car.
He tied a scarf to make me blindfolded and held my hand and asked me to just trust me with this.

After a couple of minutes passed by, I was running out of my patience and I asked him if I could remove the scarf around my eyes;but he didn't reply.

"Ok,Nancy,we are done.Now I allow you to remove the scarf and slowly open your eyes without moving your legs."

I rushed to open the knot but asked Zach to help me out.
He opened it and I opened my eyes.
To suck in all this at a time, it took me seconds;the scenic beauty,valley down there,the virginity of this place I bet,is something that cannot be summed up in words.I already felt running out of words,unable to express myself!

This is my grandfather's ranch and I have brought you here for a special occasion today,he said in a calm voice.

No sooner, there came a commotion of thoughts as to why I am here with him at this place.

I forgot to blink my eyes when he whispered into my ear,
"Happy birthday Nancy"

I turned my neck to face him,"Oh Jesus,I thought you had absolutely no idea about my birthday today."

"How is that even possible, that I forget your birthday."

He curled my hands from behind and fingers interweaving inside eachother's asked me to just feel whatever he was about to say.

My inquisitive eyes looked back at him instantaneously.
He was now really close to my cheeks and I could feel my heart pace at an obnoxious erratic rate with blood flushing down my cheeks.
He started whispering in his smooth melting voice,
"You are the most beautiful soul I have ever met.You have accepted me the way I am and for who I am. You never tried to change me and that itself changed the bit of my heart which now loves you unconditionally. All I'll ever want is for you to be happy..
I am an Avid fan of yours.I would want to you to make me an irrevocable part of yours.I promise to be the same benevolent gentleman as I have always been with you around me"

I stop and savor this very moment gazing right into his eyes.
"I love you Zach!You are an epitome of a pure heart,the blue diamond of my life, I would never want to loose."

With that he kissed me on my forehead,a gentle one giving me the much needed assurance that I was searching for,in his eyes.

My back was facing him again when we were both enjoying eachother's presence in front of a deep lush green valley.
He put something around my neck.
I held it with my fingers to see what it exactly looked like!It was a blue rare shade of diamond heart-shaped.
"Wow!This is beautiful."
"Not more than the eyes of the beholder."
I giggled and blushed at the thought of Zach officially trying to flirt.

"Why did do buy such an expensive one?There wasn't any need of it"

"Nan,this belongs to my grandmother.She gave it to me and asked me to give it to its rightful heir"

I turned to face him and hugged my 'Lifetime Teddy Bear' for the first time without any hesitation.
This journey from Ms.Nancy to Nancy and now to Nan has been a life changing one indeed!

And in that moment, we shared an unsaid promise of never to leave each other's side"
