Nancy's POV:
The morning is pleasant and delightful;not only because of yesterday's eventful evening but also because I was with Veronica , Giovanni,Jasper and Nicholas at Gio's house.
"When is he going to come?"Jasper asked Gio.
Gio was quiescent.
"Hey where is the new game that you got last week?"
"Switch on the PlayStation"
"This one seems amazing"Jasper replied.
Soon,everyone got busy with the game.I heard the doorbell ring.
Gio was playing his turn and everyone being engrossed in the game,I approached the door.I pushed the handle down and opened the door to discover that Rick was standing right in front of my eyes.
"Hi"he said.
"Aa.. hi!",not knowing what to reply.
He went inside filling my mind with blank spaces.
Soon he murmured something into Jasper's ears.
I wanted to leave but could not because that would strain and repress my relation with Gio and others.
"Nan",Rick called me out,"I want to have a word with you,can you spare five minutes."
"Alright",Not a minute more,I repeated in my head.
"Look,I was really stupid to believe that girl then,and to give her more weight than you!
I am sorry and let's be back together,all of us,the way we were in those high school days!"
Tears rolled down my eyes!All I was able to do was nod my head up and down and give a subtle smile.
I hugged him in response and the best friends reunion was a scene to behold looking forward.
"Office will be more fun now with Rick besides my side,I will delegate all my work to you now,"I commanded Rick;the way I always used to dominate him.
"No Nan,at least manage your own work!Zach already gives me more work than you!"
"Someone has started being partial"
Veronica taunted.
"Of course not! That's not true"I cleared the air.
Anyways,today is really a cheerful and merry day,I am happy that those childhood days when we all used to be together have come back again.
"Yes grandma,I am elated too"Gio said.
"Stop calling her Grandma"I reacted.
"She's our go-to person in times of trouble"
"That's why I called her Grandma"
And with that everyone laughed and rejoiced with frolic,now that the hostility and animosity has evaporated between these childhood best friends.
The best friends reunite!
