After a Month:The Grand Christmas Event

Nancy's' POV:

The area was fully covered with luxurious sofas making a rectangular border on all three sides of the lawn with one side of lawn fully decorated with a combination of unique orchids ordered from Singapore, Hyacinths from Eastern Mediterranean, and a Christmas tree with the jingle bells,stars, gifts and miniature of Santa Claus. On the other side of the tree was a stack of gifts packed in glittery papers. There was a stage, slightly elevated with a wooden flooring which was reserved for addressing the crowd at large. After the speeches and stage events,the dice would be cleared for the dance party according to the planner. The night was going to be long and a musical one.
Looking at my Pierre Cardin wrist watch I was satisfied with myself being able to get things right as per the scheduled time.
The only thing left now was to go home, get dressed and be back here in the next two hours.

Zach's POV:

There was shimmery lighting everywhere.
The entire place was all decked up and a wave of festivity was visible amongst all. After all it was Christmas, time to celebrate and go gaga.It was the festival of Chocolates, cakes,muffins,candies,wine,pudding and what not.

"Oh Zach!You look great with that sultry tie and waist coat of yours."

I adjusted my tie knot and shared a hand shake with Mr.Aron Nicole.

"Good evening Mr.Nicole. Thank you for the compliment. Its a pleasure to see you here.

"Merry Christmas"

"Merry Christmas to you too"

Soon I went to the corner to meet my pals with red wine glass in my hand.
Maggie,Calvin, Drake , Bella were discussing something and soon they became alert about my presence near their vicinity."What's cooking up between you all?"
"We all have made our Christmas plans. My sister is coming back home after a year tonight. I'll leave from here, to pick her up at the airport directly after the party at midnight", Maggie expressed.
Soon Vinny came along with Peter. I went to meet them.

" Merry Christmas Vinny"

"Merry Christmas Zach"

"Merry Christmas Peter brother.
You are looking superb,no wonder you are getting back those typical stares from the girls out there."

"You look no less", Vinny added "specially that pastel blue tie of yours."
"Thank you,Vinny,you look pretty sweet too,like always. You are the second one to praise that choice of mine."

The band of musicians were playing some instrumental soothing music.
I rummaged and scrutinized the entire arena to find out Vinny's partner in crime,Nancy.

And here enters,Nancy who accidentally wore a pastel blue crochet dress that would go with my tie. My jaw dropped instantaneously,without any second thought. She was approaching here,I could see the facial expression with upward contours at the end of her lips. I could feel the same shine developing in my eyes,yes the same one which I was able to figure out in hers.

"Hello everyone!Hello Zach!"

Of course, I was about to say Hi!
But then,accidental interruptions...

"Hello Zach!Meet our new client,Mr Stanley!
My mind which was engulfed with only her thoughts ,took a detour and was brought back into senses by Mr.Stanley. I know I was not allowed to do anything like this,anything I thought of a minute ago.

Mr.Stanley!A pleasure to see you.
Be comfortable!

"Rickey and Nancy,meet Mr.Stanley!Mr.Stanley wants to list his company in the SGX markets. Their company is already doing wonders in UK."

Nancy felt dejected,I could make out!
But I had to control the vulnerable version of myself;and I did not find any better option other than to introduce my colleagues with our client.

"Oh!So is he 'The Successful Stanley' who came to UK twenty years back and now wishes to go back to Singapore and enter his own country's markets?"Vinny said.

"Yes!I read his story titled 'Rags to Riches' in London Business Magazine."Nancy replied.
Suddenly, the background music came to a halt.

"Ladies and Gentlemen,welcome to the 30th Christmas Party held by Bran Knights Group of Companies."Everyone turned their faces to the person speaking on the mic on the stage.
"Without wasting much of your time,I'll handover the mic to Our beloved CEO, Bran Knight.

"A very warm welcome and Merry Christmas to everyone.
I recall the occasion of my first appearance as the CEO here.I had a manuscript tucked on to the edge of the podium in case I stumbled in between my speech."
The crowd laughed. After his pause,he continued.
"I had a few stalwart and resilient men in front of me then. But today,we have emerged to a whole new level; this number,of my people, my resilient family is growing multifold. Business is about people and keeping your people satisfied is of vital importance,which is an example I want to set.
Here,I take this opportunity to thank all of my employees to make Bran Knight's brand what it is today!
Without wasting anymore time I will conclude by saying,
"Keep your spirits high"
"Let the good times roll in!"
"Thank you all for your presence here."

And the music started again. This time it was not the instrumental one but the music to which one could groove on.
I saw many people getting on the dance floor.
Calvin, Maggie,Rickey and Drake joined us soon.

The DJ started playing a remix of 'That's my name' by Akon.
"Lets go and dance." Drake it was.
All of us went on the dance floor.
I started dancing when the song changed to Lean On. That's the one I've been listening to for the past few days.
All of us were dancing except for Nancy and Rickey.
I pulled up Rickey and put him in the middle of our group so that he starts to show his moves.
But Nancy,how could I pull her!
So instead I asked Vinny to take care of her friend and get her to the dance floor.

No sooner even Nancy started to enjoy the music. I could see the care-free Nancy. I went to the bar counter and ordered a Tequila for my self. I decided to let go,which is a very rare phenomenon.

After having it ,I felt lighter and went back to dance.
Now I was dancing with Nancy to the tune of Bailando by Enrique Iglesias. I asked out for her hand,she gave it in easily. I turned her round and round to match the beats.
Swift she was on her toes;The curve on her face,that laughter,that cheerful face of her was getting imprinted in my mind!
The beats changed and the song ended which made us stop.

We were still close to each other,it was as if we cared about nothing. Standing in the middle of the dance floor,I was thinking whether those unspoken words are due for exchange. Whether it was the right time to say about us.

Nancy's POV:

I had butterflies in my stomach. I was on cloud nine.
Those magical minutes with Zach could not be expressed in mere words.
My eyes fell on the watch. It was getting late. I shouted my lungs out in his ear to beat the background music which was now noise for this very moment"Merry Christmas! Good Night!"

With that I left,my heart filled with mixed emotions.
His puppy face was a memory I was taking back home.
