"Mr. President, here are Mrs. Kennedy's bills for last month," says Kenny handing Jack Marilyn's clothing bills.
"Thank you," Jack says taking them and putting his glasses on.
Looking down at the total for the month; Jack's eyes almost jumped out of his head.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" Jack screamed; everyone in the office stopped and looked at the closed door.
Nine hundred and ninety-six thousand five hundred and ninety-five dollars in clothing and jewelry spent in January on Marilyn. Her clothing bills were almost one million dollars!
Jack knew Marilyn had expensive tastes when it came to clothes, jewelry, traveling, and fine dining. But this was outrageous.Jack has millions and millions of dollars, living a very comfortable life thanks to his different investments, which lead to his Presidential salary going to five different charities. He didn't have to worry about money. With Marilyn, however, he wasn't sure how much of his millions he is going to have left.
All she wants to do is shop, shop, shop, travel to the exclusive resorts, and eat at all the finest restaurants. If it wasn't for them having a housekeeper to cook and clean, their Georgetown house they had when he was a Senator, would have never been cleaned and he would have been eating takeout every night.
Marilyn's daily routine is to sit around and spend his money. Their sex life includes spending money and is just satisfactory. When he tries to initiate she'll give in, but there has to be a promise of something sparkly or a new dress for him to get any. He wasn't the type of man who demanded sex from his wife, however, he doesn't agree that he has to pay for it either.
Jack feels like he is a good husband to Marilyn, but Marilyn doesn't agree. When he is home and wants to spend time with her she doesn't want to be bothered. When he isn't home, she cries and whines about how she never sees him.
What makes things worse, Marilyn told Jack that she didn't want any kids. Ever!
"I don't want to ruin my hour-glass figure," she told him one night.
Even though before they were married she told him that she wanted to give him the family he wanted. He has always longed for his own family, especially now that both his brother's Bobby and Teddy have already started theirs. The thought of having a son and daughter made him look forward to the future. With Marilyn, the future looked grim and penniless.
He thought back to when his sisters were trying to tell him when he and Marilyn were dating that Marilyn wasn't anything but a gold-digger. He married her anyway, now he is miserable and on his way to being broke at the rate her bills are coming in. He didn't want to be the first President in history to leave the office broke. He needed to put an end to this.
The overcast of divorce on his presidency makes him feel uneasy, but he wasn't sure if he could endure eight years of unhappiness.
