A Presidential Affair

Marry Me

I heard this song at work and it inspired me to write this chapter.

It seemed just yesterday when Jackie told Jack that she is pregnant. Now here she is 40 weeks and just a few days away from having her first child.

Even though it wasn't the ideal situation, she is happy that she had Jack who is there with her through everything. From the first appointment; after he found out all the way up to now.

Here she is sitting in her office looking out over the mall. Even though her doctor ordered her to stay away from work. She came in just to take home a few things since she is going to be on Maternity leave for two months.

She sits down at her desk and turns on her computer just to check her email even though they are forwarded to her phone. As soon as the computer turns on she feels a sharp pain shoot through her lower abdomen, then a gush of water down her legs.

"Oh no," Jackie says loudly.

Just then her secretary runs in.

"Jackie are you ok?"

"I think the baby is coming..." is all she can say before she experiences her first contraction.

Twenty minutes later Jackie is being rushed to George Washington University Hospital.

Jack is notified and makes his way to the hospital. As he got closer to Jackie's room he can hear her cry out as another contraction has passed. It scares him yet he didn't know that she could scream that loud. Once he is at her door he could hear her cry out loud again.

"Jack, you're here," she says smiling.

"Yes I'm here sweetheart, are you ok?" He asks taking her hand.

"I'm fine its just these contractions that are driving me crazy."

"I'm sorry sweetheart. I wish it is something I could do."

"It's ok, I'm just glad you're here," Jackie replies with a small smile.

After what seems like hours Jackie finally gives birth to a little girl weighing eight pounds and five ounces. A full head of hair and greenish-grey eyes like her father Victoria Lee Bouvier-Kennedy was born at seven thirty pm on March seventeenth.

After they clean up Victoria they give her to her father who smiles so brightly. He can't believe it, he is finally a father. It seems like it took forever but it finally happened. It has happened with a woman he has fallen deeply in love with.

He walks into Jackie's room who is asleep. He places a gentle kiss on her lips which causes her to stir.

"Hi," she says smiling.

"Hi," he replies placing Victoria in her arms.

"She's beautiful," Jackie says staring into her daughter's face.

"She is, just like her mother," he replies looking at Jackie.

Jackie blushes and looks down into the face of their daughter.

"I like the name Victoria, the only thing is we will have to change one thing," Jack says.

"What do you mean?" Jackie asks perplexed.

"What I mean is," Jack says getting down on one knee, "Jacqueline Bouvier, will you marry me?"
