CUPID, OR Y/N L/N as she was known when she was human, wandered through the city of Rome, Italy, nothing particularly on her mind. The lovey-dovey spirit flew through the city and breathed in the scent of the Italian bread that so many cooks made well, her stomach making a noise of hunger - even though she didn't need to eat. Glancing downwards, Cupid looked at the reflection of the moon in a small river that flowed through the city, proud of what she had accomplished that day.

She smirked to herself, pride swelling in her chest that she made 8 different people fall in love that day. Today was a successful day for her, her wings tingling and shivering with excitement and joy every time she shot an arrow. The sun had gone to rest and the moon, Man in Moon, made the city bask in a soft hue that covered the country. The spirit settled on top of a house and looked over to where the Moon was resting, head tilting as the spirit admired Moon's many craters from afar.

Man in Moon softly illuminated Cupid's outfit that consisted of a stunning red dress that hugged her body, white fishnet stockings, and cute little red boots. She leaned against her white staff and looked over to Man in Moon,

"Man in Moon, you have listened to me in the past, have been my only friend, and I was wondering if you could listen to me now," Cupid started, taking a deep breath before she continued.

"I've been hoping to be part of those Guardians and to help protect every child from every single danger that comes their way. You know how prideful I am with my work, and I know I can work just as well as they can. Can you just please give me a chance. . ."

Even though she knew she wasn't going to get a response, Cupid let out a sigh and bent her legs, giving her a boost to fly off. She left the beautiful town of Rome and flew through the sky, content on simply lying on her back and watching the clouds fly past her vision. She felt weightless, nothing holding her down or keeping her afloat - simply just living.

The stars lit up, forming constellations almost in every direction she looked in as she flew. Stars always fascinated Cupid, whether it be in her human life or spirit life. She felt as if they spoke to her in ways nobody would understand but her. She felt as if she understood everything they said when they never even spoke.

Just voices in the wind.

But what she didn't know is that Man in Moon did hear every word the girl said and spoke to her without saying a word.

Only a few countries away, North, or Santa, had lit the lights shown only for the Guardians. All of the members saw and headed towards the 'Headquarters,' as North liked to call his Workshop. As everyone gathered in the small room where they are always in, the leader had explained why he had summoned everyone.

North smiled, "Man in Moon has chosen a new member for the Guardians, my friends. How exciting is this?" The man shivered with excitement, "let's reveal our new Guardian, shall we?"

Jack, Tooth, and Sandy shook their heads in anticipation as Bunny shrugged, seemingly bored of the meeting already. The light from Man in Moon shone on the pedestal that was associated with messages, and the crystal was reflecting the light from every direction. Jack bit his lip, waiting to see who was going to be the new member of the Guardians. Was it someone he knew? Was it someone who had just become a spirit?

Just as everyone was trying to think of who the person was, Man in Moon revealed what everyone had been anticipating.

Everyone's eyes had grown three sizes, "Cupid?" Their voices all synced together.

Tooth giggled happily as she flew around, "finally, another girl! This is a dream come true."

Sandman had a large smile plastered on his face as he formed figures with his sand. To Sandy, he and Cupid were very good friends and the times they interacted were always so joyful, full of many laughs.

North didn't look at all displeased with Man in Moon's decision, as the two had crossed lines a few times. He treated Cupid like he would treat his own daughter and always helped if she needed anything, vise versa. He could tell she would be a good addition.

Bunnymund shrugged his shoulders, "she's very nice, from the few times I met 'er. Seems like a good addition." He flashbacked to the few times he had met the new friend of the Guardians and smiled when he remembered some funny stories she had told him.

Jack's throat had gone dry when he saw the figure of Cupid. Of course, it had to be the woman he liked and the one he thought was absolutely breathtaking. His palms got sweaty and his stomach erupted with butterflies, just at the thought of you - Cupid.

He thought about the few times he had run into the lovey-dovey spirit and how he managed to make her laugh on all of those occasions. He smiled and realized he would be spending many hours and days with her. Hell, even years.

North looked toward the youngest Guardian, "well, Jack, it's your turn." The leader handed Jack the sack and Snowglobe, shoving the boy along to get the new member. Jack threw the Snowglobe onto the ground and a portal appeared, showing the sky littered with stars, but no ground. Albit confused, Jack looked back to his fellow Guardians as they waved and he jumped through with a shrug, already telling himself to fly as he let out a surprised sound from the lack of grounding

Shaking his hands, Jack flew forward with his hands behind his back. He hoped his plan wouldn't be suspicious.

"Cupid? Is that you?" Jack asked, seeming like he saw her coincidentally as he was simply 'flying by'.

The spirit turned around and smiled when she realized the voice belonged to the winter boy, "no way, the infamous Jack Frost! How have you been? It has been a few years."

There was a slight pause until Cupid continued, "and if you don't mind me asking, what's with the sack?"

Jack looked around the sky as he tried to seem inconspicuous, "oh, this thing? Well, Man in Moon showed me and the other Guardians an image of you and that basically means that you're supposed to be a Guardian with us so I came to get you. Ready to go?"

Cupid learned one new thing about Jack Frost that day - the man mumbles yet is very straight to the point.

Cupid gathered her thoughts and stared at the winter spirit in shock, "wait, so, I'm supposed to be a Guardian? O-oh my gosh! This is just....wow."

She laughed nervously and smiled, in shock of what Jack had told her, "oh geez, where to?"

Jack then revealed the Snowglobe, "we gotta get back to the Workshop. So, you ready?"

He held out his arm to the new Guardian and she smiled, taking the offer. Jack then threw the Snowglobe onto the ground and jumped through the portal, bringing Cupid with him.

After getting over the dizziness, Cupid looked around to her new surroundings.

Beautiful Christmas wallpaper and wooden floorings decorated the walls and tiles of the shop while many other items were littered around the spacious room.

"Wow," Cupid started, whispering to Jack, "so this is the North Pole?"

Jack shook his head at Cupid and whispered back, "yeah, and the owner of said workshop and other Guardians are staring."

Cupid focused and realized there were four figures looking in her and Jack's direction with grins on their faces. She awkwardly laughed, "oh, my apologies, hi! I already met you all, but it's nice to see you all again."

They all reintroduced themselves and welcomes Cupid with open arms, asking her how she felt about being chosen by Man in Moon. After all of the re-introducing and joke-interrogating, North had asked Cupid if she would like to become a Guardian, to protect every single child from any fear, even Pitch Black himself.

And of course, she agreed.
