The guardians then smiled when they saw that Cupid would return.

    ITS BEEN A FEW WEEKS after Cupid had passed and Jack was not doing any better. He hadn't been out of his room for the 3 weeks since she had been gone, having no contact with the outside world. The only time he ate was when North or Bunny would bring him food, but those are the only two he could see. The others were worried that if he saw Tooth, he'd might do or say something he'd regret. So, their top priority was letting him heal.

   His hair was messier than usual, his blue eyes losing its color ever since the first week, and his clothes were even dirtier than before. Tooth felt so guilty; she hadn't been out to collect teeth in a while, saying she couldn't look any child anymore. North wasn't the happy, joyful man he always was. He thought of Cupid as his own daughter, loving her as one as well. But now, she was gone, and he felt almost empty inside, a piece of him missing. "Almost," he had told Sandy, "almost like she was the last piece of my puzzle for a daughter. But now. . ."

    Bunny had stayed in the Warren after stopping at the Pole, doing his own grieving. He had hoped that decorating eggs would make him somewhat happy, thinking of her, but it all ended in tears. When Cupid died, the other guardians turned around, except him and Jack. Bunny and Cupid were very close, she always coming to him either if it was a fight with Jack or a stupid joke she had made up or seen on the internet. He remembered when she came to him due to a joke she found. . .

   Cupid ran up to Bunny, tapping his shoulder. He turned around and grinned when he saw his best friend; "Yeah Cupid?"  Bunny asked. "Hey, hey, listen to this. . .what does Batman get in his drinks? Just ice!" Bunny chuckled, then let out a big laugh, but feeling sad for the girl. "Get it, cause justice-" Bunny cut her off, "yeah yeah, I get it, Cupid," he said while chuckling.

    Sandman had stayed the darker yellow he had changed to. Images of Cupid had appeared above Sandman every once in a while, mostly happy memories. But sometimes they changed, showing her death over and over again, not only in Sandy's mind but also above him. Everyone forgot about what Manny said, except Jack, of course.

    North was in his room making a small ice statue of Cupid. He smiled when he made the little grin on the statue and was impressed with how her hair turned out. All her (Straight, curly, ect.) hair was resembled in a tiny replication of her. Then, North heard a voice -

North. . .

the voice started, making North stop the statue.

North looked around and the voice called out to him again,

The note about Cupid, North. . .

    North let out a small, but pained gasp, feeling guilty. He then knew it was Man in Moon, "what shall I do Manny?" the Australian man asked.

Manny then replied, his voice quiet and soft. . .

Tonight, the rooftop. . .

   North nodded after hearing the message and pulled the lever for the lights, signaling the guardians. Everyone then came to the workshop and stood before North, including Jack. Everyone stared at one another in silence until initiative had to be given.

   North started explaining, "Manny said to go on the roof of the workshop tonight. We don't know for sure when, but I say we go now." Everyone took deep breaths silently, wondering what was to come. North started walking towards the elevator and the rest of the guardians followed.

    They had then made it to the rooftop, the slanted roof reflecting the light of Manny. Jack stared up at Man in Moon with his tired, sunken-in eyes. Everyone was standing, waiting for something that they didn't know what. The guardians all felt what seemed like lost hope. All of a sudden, a light from the Moon exploded and Jack saw a figure falling from the new created crater.

    Flying up to the thing, he kept squinting, trying to see what it was. He then gasped when he saw it was Cupid, hair and outfit flying everywhere. He flew towards her at full speed and caught her bridal style, her body landing a bit roughly in his arms. He ran his hands through her hair and it rested on her cheek, "oh, god."

    He flew down to the other guardians with Cupid still in his arms and they all had gasped. They surrounded Cupid, cupping her cheeks at different times or rubbing her hair, thanking Manny. North then suggested to bring her to his room to set her down and see if she wakes up. The group agreed and Jack held onto her, heading downstairs.

    They went into North's room and Jack set Cupid down on a mini bed he had in his room. North then checked her for injuries, telling Sandy to make a checklist for her. All of a sudden, Cupid sat up, taking in quick breaths, her eyes glancing around the room cautiously.

   She was silent after she calmed down until North asked her, "Are you okay, Cupid?" She nodded, but asked a question that broke everyone's heart. . .

"Who are you people?"
