My mama told me.

"My mom always told me to be especially kind to those who were bitter towards me, but I always dismissed it, for she was always trying to make an excuse to see the better in people who deserved no pity. But when I met him, my stomach twisted in knots and my head pulsed to no end. Everything he said gave me a headache, and every time he opened up that pretty mouth of his the ugliest words came out. He was everything I hated in anyone, he was a narcissist and had a temper that would burn out quicker than a match in a breezy room. He sickened me and caused volcanoes to erupt within me, anger and bitterness boiling inside. Until one day when I was fed up, so I confronted the daunting boy that filled my thoughts daily. He was left by his parents when he was no older than four, and every night he passed the time by crying on the bathroom floor. His arms were laced with cuts, some old and some fresh. I hugged him there and once I pulled back he looked bewildered. His pink lips curled up into the most genuine smile, and I know he's been waiting for that hug for a while."
