Chapter 10- A day without death

Haley's P.O.V.

Its been two days. Since I've eaten a decent meal, eaten anything really. It's been two days since I haven't gotten sleep. I could feel it. Morgan was right, I could feel he was in trouble. And it frightened me. I stayed sitting on my porch once again "Haley"

I looked up to see Rick standing in front of me "Everyone's worried, you haven't slept. Have you eaten?" He asked looking concerned

"He's in trouble" I said not answering his questions "I could feel it, Daryl, in trouble"

Rick bent down to my level "Haley, Daryl will come back. He will. Sasha and Abraham. They all will"

I nodded my head. He was right, I know Daryl is in trouble, but I'm not giving up on him that easily

"Now come on, Jessie is making some food, go ahead and eat. We need your strength"

I gave him a smile as he stood up and walked away. I stood up and walked over to Jessie's house. She welcomed me in and I stood over the counter eating with her. To be honest it felt good to get something inside my stomach.

"So I was wondering" Jessie began

"Yea?" I asked looking up at her

"Can you teach me how to fight? Rick's teaching me how to shoot. But I figure if I know how to fight, it would be better right?"

"Say no more, I will teach you"

She smiled and exhaled "Great"

I grabbed another piece of food and popped it into my mouth "And Sam? I haven't seen him lately" I added

"He's held up in his room"

"He hasn't come down?" I asked

She shook her head "He's afraid"

I exhaled "Jessie, I know he's afraid but-"

She cut my off "I know, I know. I just, need time"

I let down to fork as I swallowed the last piece of food "Sometimes we don't have time. Thanks for the food" I said as I turned around and walked to the door. I opened it walked out and closed it behind me. I like Jessie and all but she's being so gentle on her kids. She needs to teach them, now. Those walkers outside those walls want to get in. And somehow I have a feeling their wish will be granted

I kept moving along the road, I saw Maggie up at the tower so I decided to keep her company for awhile. I climbed up and stood next to her "You okay?" I asked

She stayed silent but nodded. We stayed silent as all I could hear were the walkers snarling, growling. I looked out to see so many walkers

"I'm pregnant" She spilled

My eyes moved to her "Maggie.. That's, that's amazing" I remembered when I was in her position. It made me happy, even though we're living in this world "Congratulations" I have her a smile

She smiled back "Thanks"

"I've gotta go" I said silently. I climbed down and walked away. I kept my head high. Later I watched as Rosita was teaching a class with the blades. She was good I had to admit, and that's good she's teaching people. They have to know, in case things happen. I walked to where we kept the food to see Olivia sitting on the steps reading a book. I knocked on the door after I opened it

"Hey, how's everything going on here?" I asked

She smiled "Good, is there a problem?" She asked

I shook my head "Just checkin up" I closed the door and began to make my way around the community making sure people were fine. I walked up to a post to help Eugene and Tara. We were working until I heard noise. I looked up to see Spencer trying to get over to the other side moving across while the walkers were underneath "Spencer" I whispered. I knew I had to do something. So I acted

I began to take out my small hang gun I had "Eugene have Maggie and Rosita fire their guns out from their posts"

"Why?" He asked

"Just do it!" I had my gun in my hand and I moved closer along the rail of the tower and wall

"Haley, I cannot in good conscience-"

"Just do it!" I yelled moving into position. I watched as Spencer dropped to the floor. Rick yelled at him to get up and I aimed my gun. I began to shoot, any walked getting near Spencer. I kept shooting walkers in the face trying to get them away from Spencer. I emptied my clip while Michonne came over to help me up. Once they got Spencer up Rick looked up at me from the other side

"What the hell are you doing?!" Rick yelled at me

"It's called a rescue" I gave him attitude to go with it. I climbed down the tower. After Spencer got down I walked after him "You okay?" I asked walking next to him

He nodded "Lost a shoe. But it's a good thing I have more than one pair"

"That was really stupid what you just did" I commented

"I know"

"Don't do anything like that before talking to us first, me" I walked faster leaving him behind. Pretty soon I ended up with Tara, Rosita and Eugene. We were talking about the lessons she was giving. Then we saw balloons. After that everything turned into chaos. The watch tower came down. Breaking the wall. Allowing walkers to come through inside. I stayed with Eugene, Rosita, and Tara.

Rick yelled at us to get back and my eyes widen at the horror that was happening. Rosita and Tara grabbed Tobin before walkers could get him and we ran away to safety
