Chapter fourteen

Haileys POV

"Dad?".
I haven't seen my dad in years.
I was so lost in my thought that I didn't realize he was beating the crap out of the people and getting out Alicia,mom,Emily and I out.
"I haven't seen you in 10 years Matt" my mother scolds.
"It wasn't safe" he says.
"Not safe?" she snaps back.
"Well too late for that" she says and turns around and hugs Emily and I.
"Listen, Regina just listen to me" Matt said. I didn't feel comfortable calling him dad on account of me not seeing him since I was 5.
She sighed and faced him.
"The King. He..he sent me to gather my family and talk to him".
"King?" me and Emily said.
Mom and Matt faced us.
"We have some explaining to do" My mom said.
"For now, I want Adam and Alicia to go home. Emily and Hailey come with us" my mom said.
Adam and Alicia nodded.

Right now, my mom, my father, Emily and me and at the beach, about to go talk to the "king".
"Hailey.." my mom says, uneasy.
"Yeah?".
She starts crying.
"Ma?" I say.
"If you go in the water, you will...turn forever" she says.
I gulp.
"Turn, mermaid forever?".
She nods her head.
"I have 1 hour on land before I turn forever again" my father says.
"I don't want to leave you" I say to my mom and Emily.
"We promise to visit" she says.
"I want to live on land!" I say, shouting mostly.
"Sweetie, it was the way you were born. I'm so sorry" my mom says hugging me.
"Why can't you turn like that?" I ask.
"Yeah" Emily says.
My mom looks at my dad.
"That's what we are going to discuss, but it might not work out so well" she says.
"We have to try!" I say.
"What happens if it doesn't work out?" Emily asks.
"Emily and I will become human forever".
My stomach drops.
I gulp.
"We have to try" I say again.
"It's up to you" my mom says.
I nod. "Let's go" I say.
