Chapter seventeen.

"What do you mean by find my family? Aren't they here?" I ask.
She shakes her head.
"Oh".
"By find your family, I mean we are going to sneak out and find your family".
"So why did we come back here?" I ask.
"Because, if you want to stay in this village, you have to look like us. I know I did the sea shells, but that's not it. Your colors are way off" she states.
"Um..okay.. I didn't know you could change your colors.." I say.
She laughs.
"Oh you can".
"Mhmm".

"Get in" she says, pointing towards some type of tube.
I hesitate.
"Hurry! This is illegal! Do you know how bad that would be for me?".
"What?" I ask.
"Imagine this. "Princess of Sea Cove using illegal items!".
I forgot she was princess.
"Okay jeeze. Sorry" I say while swimming in the tube.
She shuts the tube door.
The tube says something, then shoots bubbles around me.
Before you know it, my tail is gold, just like Gina's.
"Cool" I say and swim out.
"Brand new. Anyways let's go" she says.
"Where?".
"To my place" she says.
I follow her through the large crowds or mermaids and merman.
There are adults, kids, babies. It's very cool.
All of the merpeople seem so happy.
Way happier then the last village.
We make our way to a large, green kingdom.
"May I ask who this young women is?" one of the guards say.
"A friend of mine. Do you have a problem?".
He eyes me down.
"No ma'am".
She smiles and we countinue.
"Close call" she says once we're out of sight.
We go down a hall and into a pink room.
I'm guessing it's her room.
"This is my room" she says while shutting the door.
It's pink with a clam bed and seaweed. And a closet and seaweed banners.
"Come sit" she says.
I sit on the clam bed.
"Okay where did you last see your family".
"The kingdom at the other village".
"Okay".
"Do you remember anyone's that's not your family".
"Otherwise then the King? Um.. one of the guards".
"The guard? Why".
That's when it hit me.
"He wasn't reacting".
"What?".
"When the King told them to get me, he didn't do anything".
"Okay that's good! So obviously he disobeys orders. What did he look like?".
"Brown hair, muscular, green tail, perfect jawline, sea blue eyes, perfect nose" I realized I was drooling.
I snapped out of my trance.
"Yeah that's all" I say, embarrassed.
Gina cracked up.
"You were drooling! You totally love him!" she says while laughing.
"Shut up. I do not. Plus I have a boyfriend" I say, remembering Adam.
"Ha! He is long gone now!" she says.
I frown.
"Sorry" she says.
"Let's just go" she says while getting up.
                                
We sneak out her bedroom and we were almost out the door but then...
"Gina! I haven't seen you all day!".
We turn around and face Gina's father, aka the King.
"Dad.." she says.
"Who's your friend?" he says, looking at me.
"Hailey" she says.
"I don't recall her face. Gina you know that I know everyone in my kingdom".
"Daddy, I know that. You brag about it all the time" she says.
"So who this young lady?".
"My friend. I found her.."
"We do not take outsiders" he says, cutting her off.
"Please daddy! Her family is lost somewhere. You know how it felt when mom and Ashley were lost" she pleads.
"Fine. But no going outside the village and no taking outsiders unless it's her family. We have a few extra clams left" he says.
Clams? I think.
"Yay!" she exclaims, and pulls my arm as she swims away.
"Goodbye Sir King Sir!" I say stupidly.
"So what are we going to do?" I ask.
"Look for your family! Duh".
"But your dad said.."
"Like I listen to my dad" she says as we head towards the gates.
"You're bad for a princess".
"I know".
