Dear Corinne,
Mr. Soren won't stop. My heart rate goes up every time I see him and doesn't slow down for ten minutes afterwards. He's never gotten farther than he did back stage that one day after practise. Thank God. But I'm still absolutely terrified every time I set foot in this school.
Today I called Kids Help Phone. I saw their number on a chocolate bar wrapper. I went into my closet and closed the door, then typed in the number really slowly. It rang for a bit, and just when I thought they weren't going to pick up-
Lady Voice: Hello, Kids Help Phone, how may I help you?
Me:
Lady Voice: Hello? It's alright, all your information and everything you say will be kept confidential.
Me:
Lady Voice: Hello?
Me:
Me:
And then I hung up. I couldn't bring myself to say it.
