Franklin didn't know what to say when I told him the story we would sell Athena about her uncle. Which was that he got rough with an officer in the penitentiary he was held at and it turned deadly. Or he got the death penalty. Or some shit like that. Franklin and I are not good with making up things as we go along, but Trevor's specialty is to wing it. He might have his own plan going on right now, and I don't want to fuck it up. So before we say anything to Athena, we have to talk to him. I just hope he follows up on watching my ass.
Last thing I want is to get clipped by a mentally unstable girl.
"Shit, Michael, T isn't answering his phone." Franklin told me.
"I'll try." I tapped his contact and called him.
"Heeyyy? I'm driving here!"
"T, are you busy?"
"I am with a really lucky girl right now."
"Lucky how?" I asked, not really wanted to know the answer.
He laughed evilly, "This cock is all hers.. Ow sorry. Jesus. Anyway I can't talk right now. I am busy. But I'll be free tonight, I'll come by your place." He hung up.
"This is crazy, dog. I mean not even a month ago did I think anyone would fall for Trevor Phillips, but I'm starting to think she's not just in it for the money." Franklin joked.
I didn't find it funny, though. "This isn't a good thing, Frank. You know I could be in deep shit if she realizes the truth. Shit... when she does. Athena isn't stupid, maybe she already knows and is waiting for the right moment to gut me like a fish."
"Dude, can you stop jumping to conclusions for a minute. What did T say?"
"He is with her at the moment, but he said he will come by tonight."
"Okay man, what should we do until then?"
Franklin and I played a few matches of tennis then I convinced Frank to watch one of my favorite movies, The Shoulder Of Orion 2, with me. The movie lasted 1 hour and about 40 minutes, and during the final battle scene, the door opened, and we heard Trevor's boots on the tile floor.
"You keep watching." I smiled at Franklin as I met Trevor in the doorway.
"What are you two doing, having movie night? Without me? What are you watching?" Trevor asked, sounding not at all sarcastic.
"You're a good actor, T. And Frank is watching The Shoulder Of Orion 2." I walked with him to the kitchen.
He laughed as I poured a shot for each of us. "I could put on a better performance than that movie. It was a joke."
"Hey, you don't come in my house and disrespect my favorite movie like that."
"Sorry, sorry. It's not like I am here to save your ass or anything."
"I don't need your help, if she did find out I would take her out before she could get to me." He shifted his stance and looked at me annoyed.
"Take her out?" He looked betrayed at me. "You would take her out? I am here to try to stop two of my favorite people from killing each other. I thought it was her I should worry about watching, but maybe it's you. Don't go turning on me, now. Because I know. I didn't kill you. I could never, but maybe you could kill me. Wow."
"T, I wouldn't hurt her unless she gave me a reason to."
"Whatever, just stay away from her then." He pointed in my face.
"Whoa, T. I didn't mean it that way. I thought you came over to discuss the plan. Not point fingers. We already went over that shit."
He progressively got angrier. "I don't like making it a plan to lie to my-" He paused.
"You're girlfriend?" Franklin asked. "Isn't that what she is?"
"Noooo. We aren't dating if that's what you think." He paused again. "Not yet anyway. If she finds out though, she won't want to see me ever again. And she is very smart, so she will figure it out."
"Well can we try to delay it?" Franklin asked him.
Trevor looked at the ground, trying not to frown. Then he looked at me, "What if she thinks I had something to do with it?"
"Did you say anything about it to her?"
"I avoid the conversation."
"So you haven't made up a story?"
"Well, no. I don't want to lie to her. But we are going to have to. What do you have?" He put his face in his hands.
I looked at Frank. And he spoke, "Why don't we have Lester make up a fake article of some kind that says he got killed in the pen?"
"That could work." He said, looking at the floor. Frank and I looked at eachother, and then Trevor stood and left.
He was so focused on losing her, he couldn't focus on keeping her.
