Nick POV

Once we were done eating, Sky suggested to leave so we could get as much work done as possible. So, I agreed with her and we decided to leave.

Once we were seated in the car and I started driving again, Sky thanked me for lunch, but after that the car fell into another awkward silence and I know Sky felt it too, because she decided to turn my stereo on, and Counting Stars by OneRepublic was coming on, so she started singing along to the song, because she loves it.

I know that was her main reason for singing along and turning up the volume too, but I also knew she was trying to dim the awkwardness in the car. But, I still don't understand why she wouldn't just start a conversation with me, like seriously what have I done to make her so awkward around me?

Her reaction to me and her obliviousness to me irritates me so much that I do not even know what to do anymore. I don't know what to do to make her open up to me.

I don't get why she can't talk to me the same way she talks to Jake, they talk to each other like they are best friends and they have known each other for the longest time, there is so much closeness between them both, that if any person who would look at them would say, that they are best friends and that know each other better than anyone else does.

She also has her moments with Jace, Jace out of all people in the world. She can't keep a proper conversation going with me for more than 10 minutes at max, but she can talk to him normally, and in all honesty that bothers me a lot. Whether it be out of my jealousy for liking her or my dislike for Jace itself, I don't know, I just know that I don't like it and it infuriates me. So, if I do end up blowing up on her, because of my annoyance, don't mind me, because I think I deserve the chance to be communicated with properly.

"Nick?" Sky calls, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah Sky."

"You missed the turn." She tells me.

Wow I must've been in really deep thought to miss the turn.

"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking about something." I told her and she gave me a small laugh.

I made a U-turn and turned into the parking lot leading to the park trail and into the woods. Once I parked the car and turned the engine off, Sky got out of the car really quick and started heading down the trail eager to get into the place she loves the most. I follow her out and into the forest.

Sky loves the forest, the animals and the different plants, that are found in the forest, she says them to be, 'the most beautiful scenery in the world.' She has told me before that when she is in the forest, she feels as if she is home. She feels as if she has a connection with the forest, and it is hard for me not to see how she thinks that. Looking at her now she looks like she belongs here, rays of sun shining down onto her hair making it look lighter than usual, her eyes glowing with intensity and the need to gather up as much as she can about this beautiful place. All the animals have come out as well, and I see them watching her in awe and interest. And I wouldn't blame them, because she does look like the most beautiful and innocent being on this planet.

"Earth to Nick." Sky said waving her hands in front of my face.

"Huh, what's wrong?" I ask, and she just chuckles and nods her head.

"What has gotten into you? You just keep zoning out." She says giving me a questioning look at the same time.

"Uh-nothing, I was just thinking about where we should start." I tell her scratching the back of my neck in embarrassment.

She shakes her head at me again giving me a teasing smile, "How about we just go straight down the trail for a while and then we can think about changing paths if we don't come up with anything, and don't worry about getting lost, I know this place like the back of my hand." She tells me giving me another smile.

"Okay, lead the way then." I say with pointing my hand straight forward.

She chuckled again and started leading the way.

It has been an hour since we arrived, and I am beginning to get irritated again. We have found a lot of things to look through, but we have only exchanged a few comments here and there, and now I am beginning to get annoyed.

I am completely fed up, and I know I can't take it anymore, so I decide to do it. I need to ask her, I need to know, or else I will die from the anxiety of no communication.

This is it, "Sky..." I called.

Well that is it folks for this chapter, I am very sorry that this is a very short chapter, but I promise the next one is much longer, I just had the need and feel to make it suspenseful lol.
