Chapter 11: Not Necessary
Shayla's POV
"You will fulfill the prophecy, my child... You will either defeat or be defeated... For your safety, do not depart, but to do your part, you must venture out... alone..."
"There's a prophecy about me? What is it?" I curiously ask, walking towards the light.
"A pure white wolf, dressed in night, will venture out, in a plight. Seeing the hidden with golden eyes, she will defeat, or be defeat..."
"What!? Sasha! Don't leave me! I don't understand all this! Please! Don't go!" I yelled as the ghost slowly disappeared.
"You have a role to play..."
"Shayla!" Chase shook me awake from my dream. Lately, Sasha has been coming to my dreams, warning me about some prophecy I was part of, "Shayla!" Chase said again.
"What?" I groggily groaned, my eyes still haven't woken up yet.
"You were whimpering again, this is the third night, are you okay?" he whispers. I nod in response as I snuggle back into my pillow, falling asleep.
I wake up slowly, the sunlight blinding my eyes. Why didn't I close my curtains last night??? Wait, why is my pillow so warm...? I lift my head to see, and I find myself snuggled against Chase's bare chest. I mentally groan. But what else can I do with my lack of sleep? I sigh and let sleep wash over me again.

"Where's Chase?" I ask Ashlyn. I unknowingly woke up at eleven, and made myself brunch; my favorite mac-and-cheese.
"He went out, and so did the others for training, you should go too," she replies.
"Sure, are they on the north-east border again?"
"Yeah, go shift!"
"Okay! Okay! Let me finish eating first!"
I quickly finish eating, and go out to shift, putting an extra pair of clothes in a hollow log.
"I'm a beautiful creature, huh?" my wolf asks. I smile in agreement. Stretching my legs, I quickly start running toward the border. Now, don't go doubting my speed. I'm the quickest amongst all the girls in this pack! Well, I don't know about the boys, but I'm pretty quick.
I quickly sense the smell of my brother, and the rest of the pack. I pout in disappointment when I didn't see any weapons. I love fighting with daggers, swords, and arrows; I've been training for the moment I turned into a wolf!
"Hey sis!" my brother chirps through our pack's mind link. The rest of the pack members bow their heads in respect.
"Guys, seriously, don't bow to me, it makes me feel old, I'm only 16!" I joke, grinning.
"But you are important," Chase says, nuzzling his head on my neck.
"Whatever," I shrug.
After running for an hour or two, we focused tackling in both wolf and human form; And hell I had the time of my life tackling Chase! Since I had just turned 16 and shifted into my wolf form, I had the advantage of sharper senses and strength. I managed to use my sharp claws to scratch his chest, leaving a slight scar. I smirk. Oh well, better than nothing.
He gives me an amused grin, which distracts me and I find my back touching the grass. I snarl, trying to bite him, but his paws hold me down like star-iron. I pout in dismay.
"Don't forget, you're telling me in two weeks, my love," he whispers through our mate bond; he lowers his head to mine and I just turn mine away, so he won't be able to do whatever he was gonna do.
