Ch 10: Please Be Okay

Peeta's POV
The paramedics take Katniss into an examining room and one says to me,
"Sir, stay outside please."
When I hear these words I feel like dying. Who knows what is happening to Katniss and they are making me stay away from her.
/////10 mins later/////
"Peeta?" Haymitch calls out to me. When I stand up he comes over and hugs me. He can tell I've been crying because of how red and puffy my eyes are.
"What happened?" He asks.
"She had a nightmare and then she ran off into the meadow. I went there to look for her and she was unconscious and lying on the ground with blood soaking through her pants. I..."
"Peeta, it's gonna be alright. Katniss and the baby will be fine." Haymitch says.
"No, they won't. What if she has a miscarriage?!" It scares me to death to imagine our first child...dead...lifeless...never getting the chance to breathe, or think, or grow.
