Katniss's POV
I've woken in the hospital and I don't know what's happened. I ask the nurse if she can get Haymitch. She leaves the room to get him from the waiting room, I suppose. She returns with him and leaves us alone to talk. I clear my throat and begin bombarding him with questions.
"Haymitch...what happened? Where am I? Where is Peeta? Wh-." He cuts me off.
"Whoa sweetheart, slow down. Let me explain." He breathes in and exhales deeply.
"After you had that nightmare, you ran off to the woods. I assume you fell and passed out. Afterwards, Peeta came looking for you and you were unconscious with blood everywhere. He brought you here and they took you away from him. He was fretting over you and the baby-."
"The baby. What happened? Where is she?"
"She..." I stop. I can't continue.
"No!" Katniss screams and covers her mouth. Tears are streaming down her face in seconds.
"Haymitch! Tell me it isn't true! Please! Please tell me it isn't true!" I demand.
"It is true, Katniss." He says, looking away from me.
The only words that can process through me are,"Where is Peeta?"
