The Memory Game

Cronus's pov

Kankri had gone home. Youd hid yourself away in a constant state of depression. You really missed having kankri home, the vantas had once lived with you. Now all you have from him is a sweater and his forgotten things, you slept with kankris sweater it being the only thing to sooth your depression even for just a moment.
Kankri hadn't been getting better from what youd been told. Karkat would message you on occasion, you refused to totally give up on kankri. Because one day hed be back...it was only a matter of when.
You currently lay sulking in the bed you shared with kanny, you were staring at a small dark red velvet box on the night stand table. Youd never gotten to give it to kankri, sometimes it was tempting to give it to him any way in an act of hope. But you knew kankri would return in his own time. You would wait forever for that time to come. the phone buzzes on the table by the box. At first you ignore it till it goes off again. Once you pick it up you see it's karkat.

Karkat: ' CRONUS HE REMEMBERED SOMETHING!'
Cronus : 'WHAT REALLY?! WHAT DID HE REMEMBER?'
Karkat : ' he remembered how you two met. Our last names and when I came home from the hospital when i was born.'
Cronus : ' he remembers me?'
Karkat : 'alittle yeah get your ass over here and we will see what we can help him remember while time is right.'
Cronus : 'omw'

You jump up and get dressed, a new excitement flowing though you. Yes! He remembered when you two met!
You remember it as though it were yesterday. Porrim had introduced you guys six maybe seven years ago. You swear it was love at first sight.
You run out to your car and book it to the vantas house hold. Once there you sprint to the porch and knock on the door. Its soon answered by karkat.
"Hey. Hes in his room go see him." You just smile and runs up to kankris old room. Hes sitting at his desk reading.
"Kan?" You say as you walk in. He turns and smiles excitedly.
"Cronus, hello" you smile at him.
"I heard you remember something about me?" He nods yes. Your heart jumps, god yes! You knew hed get better. You had to test it though.
"Wvhat do you remember?"
" I remember a beautiful girl introduced us...I think that girl is now a lady...the one who I met in the hospital when I first woke up."
"Porrim?"
"Yes!" Something clicks in his head you can just see it. "Shes my aunt through the adoption of my father correct?"
"Yes that's her. She's also your best friend" his smile fades.
"Wvhats wvrong?"
" I thought that was you....?"
"No im something else"
"....im sorry...ugh this is so frustrating! I know you're important but....what are you!?"
" kan calm dowvn. Youll get it soon ok. One step at a time."
"Right ok....thank you...."
" your welcome. Nowv wvhat else do you remember? " You ask and he starts telling you all he knows. You listen. Its almost like old times. You love it, he clearly enjoys it too. You let him talk after awhile it's just random babbles about random things but you still listen. Youll always listen to him.
