It took years it seems to regain all your memories, in reality however it only took a year and one month. It was still to long for your taste. You've changed a bit but are relatively normal. To karkats relief you talk less, which is partially because of the adaption to having memories. You remembered everything....but now that kankri seemed like a different person entirely.
Today was the day you'd give cronus his answer. You had been mentally preparing yourself for it but...you still had a lot of nervous energy. You meet him at the park as promised yesterday.
"Hey chief howvs it goin?"
"Fairly well, and you?"
"Wvay better nowv that I'm wvith you" he winks causing you to blush faintly.
"So we need to talk" cronus instantly looks serious as though he knows what's up.
"Yeah?"
"It's about us getting back together..." you looked nervous and in fact so did he now.
"Yes?....and?"
"Well you see i...um...yes."
"Yes?"
"Yes"
"OK nowv I'm a little lost..."
"I mean yes I'll take you back" he smiles and hugs you. You gleefully hug back
" thank you, chief. Thank you so much"
" no...thank you cronus...for being so patient" he chuckles.
"No one else could put up wvith me the wvay you do. You're wvorth wvaitin for" you smile and kiss his cheek. He raises an eye brow,
"Ya missed."
"I what?"
"Ya missed, chief"
"I didn't mi-" he cuts you off by kissing you on the lips.
"There, right on target" you pull your sweater up to cover your face.
"Cronuuuus" you protest.
"Kankriiii" he mocks
"Oh stop" you look up. He just laughs and pecks you on the lips.
You'd made the right choice...this was all perfect, And it felt so right. It's one of the only things that makes sense from what you now call your past life. Not only that, you felt safe.
