Characters

JESSICA FINCHWORTH is the main protagonist, a sweet, olive-eyed dacshund who is a complete nobody. She's perfectly fine with that. Nobody picks on her when she hardly exists. Until she meets the new bad-boy Ivy, a blonde great dane covered from head to tail in beautiful tattoos of vines. It turns out, she's not as much as nobody as she thought she was. Ivy has had his icy blue eyes on her since he joined the school last term, and it's time he told her. Jess goes from the girl with the glasses in the corner to the super-hot super-cool super-bad girlfriend of Ivy in no time. With new piercings, new hair and a brand new style, she's unrecognisable, and mistaken for a new kid many times. But after an accidental trip to Ivy's home, the path starts darkening for Jess. Imogen Stone, the rivalling popular girl with bleach-blonde fur and her eyes on the prize is going way too far with the concept of 'revenge'. Gemmy, Jess's BFFL since her nerd days, has suddenly become distant and snappy, with something on her mind. And even Ivy's not all he seems, once Jess uncovers his past, and present, life. Those tattoos aren't just for show, they tell a story, and it ain't a fairytale.

GEMMY WILLIAMS is the loyal short-hair BFF of Jessica, who also becomes a bad girl. With her glossy black dip-dyed fur, her ocean eyes and her sassy style, many boys have fallen for her. She's not interested, she's never been interested, but when she meets the one, she feels she can tell nobody. The pressure of the secret on her shoulders is only relieved when they are together (in private, of course) and no matter how much she wants to tell, she feels like she just can't. Gemmy's mum has broken up with her dad and recently turned to drink, her house is a dump, and she's started to go off her food and is making herself ill. Instead of feeling at home in Jess's house, she now feels incredibly jealous of all that wealth and love. She and Jess are growing apart, and although deep down she knows she can trust her friend, she can't bring herself to tell anyone. Would she be horrified if she found out Gemmy was a lesbian?

IVY SMITH is the lovable bad-boy of Pipsfetch Academy. All the girls would simply die for a chance with him. But he's not interested in sass and ass, he wants a sweet, smart and interesting girl. In his first class with the beautiful Jessica Finchworth, he's fallen for her. On confronting her, he's suprised to hear she's shocked and pleased. He thought it was too good to be true. Jessica had never been noticed, let alone asked out by a boy before. But Ivy's aforementioned icy blue eyes have a way of noticing the unoticable, and Miss Finchworth is in no way mundane.

But plain sailing becomes a rollercoaster ride when Imogen Stone, the school's Brooke Hayes and a Half, falls for Ivy's long-lashed beauty and tattoos. And she will do anything, literally, anything, to get him wrapped around her manicured claw. Sadly for Imogen, she's not telepathic and Ivy's not interested in "Lame Blonde Barbies". But the rival refuses to wave the leather jacket and piercings goodbye. She will take Ivy, and it won't be pretty. You though Brooke's scheme at the Party of the Century was bad? Get ready for war, because this girl's saying goodbye to dirty rumours and hello to physical pain. But Ivy doesn't love her and never will. Peer pressure is crushing him, his parents are dying together and their whole unfinished business could fall on to his little blonde shoulders, Gemmy and Jessy have seriously fallen out and Ivy just can't cope. He's doing his best to juggle debts, depression and protecting his girlfriend from a lot more than rotton eggs and some permanent hair dye. A hell of a lot more.
