Hey everyone! I know it's been a while...but I've been away in Scotland and now I'm ready to write again...I'm updating two stories this week because I missed a few. Please vote, comment and follow:)
"Alright everyone, can I have some quiet please?" Mrs Mills' voice rang out as the students filed into the classroom for their last lesson of the day, gradually turning their attention towards her. As everyone took their seats, she continued " As you might now, it's a rule at this school that us teachers have to help new students as much as we can. "
Everyone was looking at Sam now. He kept his eyes on Mrs Mills.
"So I thought a group project would be a good chance for Sam to get to know some of you. Is that ok?"
Everyone was seated now, and there were some murmurs of agreement. Sam was interested. He wondered what Mrs Mills had planned for these projects. Was there a special topic? Who was working with who? He soon found out. "I decided that I'll let you choose your groups for this project. please include Sam in a group" Mrs Mills surveyed the class "and you'll give it in next week"
The class were still silent, waiting to hear more. Sam wondered if they were the sort of class that would include him, like some of his old schools, or not. He hoped for the former. As he was thinking this, Mrs Mills was saying "your project doesn't have to be anything special, just a poster or presentation on an interest of yours. It can be something you all like, or something you'd like to find out more about, or it can be one person's choice, it's up to you. Any questions?
No hands went up.
"Ok. Go ahead and choose your groups". No bigger than 5, please"
There was an immediate outburst of noise as everyone rushed to find their groups and Sam looked around awkwardly. He was going to ask his friend Mike Stamford beside him if he'd like to partner up, when he saw the boy talking to some other friends. Amelia, and some other boys Sam didn't know. Sam got up and decided that he would ask Mike if he could join the group. No sooner had he done this, than Mike waved to him, telling him to sit down. Relieved to be invited, Sam quickly joined Mike and the others at the table. Sam was introduced to Sherlock, a straight-faced boy with curly black hair, Sherlock's best friend John, who was smaller with blond hair, and Amelia's friend Rory, a petite boy with brown hair. Sam couldn't help but be a little jealous of the way he sat next to Amelia and occasionally made her laugh. Otherwise, Sam thought the group seemed nice enough, but Sam couldn't shake the feeling that they were all suspicious of him somehow. Sherlock in particular seemed to be able to see right through him.
This is going to be an interesting project, Sam thought.

Meanwhile, Dean and Cas had also been paired up. They were conjugating French verbs while their classmates shouted and laughed, some paying attention to the work, some not. Dean soon discovered that Cas really knew his stuff. He easily knew every form of even the most difficult verbs. Cas had seemed talented in the other subjects, too, whenever Dean had seen him. After yesterday, the boys had become quite good friends and they were chatting as they conjugated. Dean learned that Cas had also come from America. He had lived in Illinois, and they'd moved to England for his mum's job. The hour soon passed, and when the bell rang to signal the end of the last lesson, Cas turned to Dean as he was leaving . "Dean..." Cas' deep voice sounded even more serious than usual, and this made Dean wonder what seemed to be making him anxious. Halfway down the corridor, he turned to face Cas "Yeah?"
"There's something...." Cas hesitated, aware of the teachers and students surrounding him. "Never mind. I'll tell you later"
and after that,he didn't mention it again.
A few minutes later, Dean had eventually made his way through the throng of students to meet Sam at the school gate and they were waiting to be picked up. But, when a car pulled up in front of them,it wasn't the Impala.
"Bobby?" Dean said as the man climbed out. He had a large round beer belly and was dressed, as always, in his usual plaid with a cap over his unshaven face. "Hi, boys" he said "your dad's busy workin, so he said I should run you boys home"
The boys nodded and started getting into the car "bit of a junkyard, but it'll do" said Bobby as he closed his door. Dean had to agree. Bobby started the engine and they slowly pulled out of the school. As they drove, Sam was telling him that he had a new project to work on, but Dean wasn't really listening. He was still thinking about what had happened earlier, after French. What could Cas possibly have wanted to tell him? And why had he seemed so anxious?
