Backs Turned (Sequel to The Bet)

Chapter Thirty.

~Kalani's POV~ 

*Fast forwarding time*

"Lani are you sure you're good to go? I mean this kid could come any time." Brandon asks.

"A couple of hours with our friends won't do anything, plus the due date is the sixteenth and it's the fourteenth."

"Yeah but still sometimes their wrong."

"Brandon I'm far from labor any time soon okay? I'll be fine."

"Fine whatever." He mumbles.

"Come on we need to get Kev and Kirsten's house." 

"Mhmm whatever."

"Whatever me one time boy I swear--"

"Feisty."

"I hate you."

"You love me shut up."

Brandon gets to car before me since I am nine months pregnant finally I have to waddle my little self to the car as Brandon watches in humor.

"Maybe we need to get a house, your struggling a bit there." Brandon says smiling.

"I may be pregnant but I'll still fight you."

"Yeah I know you tried to stab me with a fork the other day."

"You tried to take my food you don't take a pregnant woman's food." I snap.

"But it's okay for you to take my food?"

"Are you a pregnant woman?"

"Do I look pregnant? Or a woman?"

"Then shut up."

After the ten minute drive and surprisingly no problem with traffic we get to Kevin's and Kirsten's house at a reasonable time, I can see that Daniel and Emiliana are here also Rose and Jacob and Devin from their cars already parked by the house.

"Get out the damn car." Brandon says opening the door.

"Brandon." I snap.

"It was a joke!" He huffs taking my hands and helping me up.

"Mhmm.." I hum, we walk up to the door and walking in because the door is unlocked and who really cares. 

"Yo-- Didn't you ever get taught not to just enter a black persons house?!" Kevin snaps.

"Ain't yo momma teach you not to keep the door unlocked?" Brandon asks.

"..True.." Kevin mumbles.

"Mhmm... where's Kirsten?" I ask.

"Here! Damn girl you're getting big!" She giggles whilst giving me a hug.

I gasp, "Brandon you said I didn't look fat!" I whine.

"You don't! You're nine months dammit!" 

"Ugh come in Emiliana, Shari, Lexi, Mariah, and Rose are out back." Kirsten says.

"Summer isn't here yet?"

"No she said she had to get Ian ready but she should be here soon." She explains leading into the living room where Daniel, Jacob, and Devin are. 

"Hey momma Lani kid ain't coming yet?" Daniel asks.

"Two more days."

"Kirsten we should have kids." Kevin says.

"Hell to the no not until I get a ring." She shrugs.

"I can make that happen." He winks making her blush.
