~Kalani's POV~

"You know what I never understood? Why you and Brandon aren't dating." Rose says while sitting down beside me.

"Well.. actually Rose.. we did date before.. well it was a couple years ago but yeah we did date.." I explain.

"Well what happened?"

"Remember when I was down Atlanta with Summer?"

"Yeah?"

"Well some drama went on throughout that time that I don't want to bring up but anyways so Brandon was actually in Atlanta at one point and I was having drama with Devin--"

"The boy that cheated on you?"

"Yeah, so back to what I was saying so when one day while only Brandon and I were hanging out he confessed his feelings for me.. and asked me to be his girlfriend and yeah."

"Okay but why did you two break up?"

"Well Devin got his 'girlfriend' who he was using to make me jealous to kiss Brandon and for me to see.. so I broke up with Brandon not knowing it was Devin's fault at the time--"

"So when you found out.. why didn't you take him back?"

"There was so much going on.. so we just decided to be friends and yeah."

"Well why don't you two give it a try again? I mean your moving in with him, he switched schools for you, plus he makes you happy."

"Yes that's why I need to keep him as a friend lately it seems as if all I do is mess up relationships and I don't need that to happen between us."

"Okay first of all Devin fucked your relationship up, Summer was the one to blame for Nick, and Lucas that was Madison's fault."

"Yeah but I'm the one who cheated--"

"All by mistake I'm sure you were going to tell him at some point and you two would have broken up anyways but what you fail to see is that all these people in your life are toxic and you still keep them around."

"Summer is my best friend.. and she seems to changing."

"Yeah she is but my point is Lani is that you give people to many chances you said Devin hurt you before right?"

"Yeah.."

"And what did he do all over again?"

"Hurt me.."

"Summer has hurt you multiple times right?"

"Yes.."

"And Madison, you always knew something seemed up with her correct?"

"Okay I see your point I trust people to easily.. I can't help it."

"Well you need to do something about it because you can't just trust anyone no matter how much you want to people are sneaky get that shit together Lani."

"Yes mom." I mutter.

"You ain't funny."

"Mmm... I think I am but anyways that reminds me of what I wanted to tell you."

"Talking about mom made you remember something?"

"Yeah because it's about her."

"Well..?"

"Okay so basically you know how she was being all harsh and rude on me."

"It's all because she had a kid before you."
