“hello?” I answered a strange number

“hello darling, this is Rebecca, Emmy’s mum?” her voice was soft and I smiled at the thought of her actually calling me

“oh hi, how are you ma’am?” I asked with a smile

“I’m brilliant thank you, I hate to be a bother but Emmy keeps asking about you and…” I listened to the phone get taken away from her

“please come, I’m having major troubles here, and you said you’ll come but I haven’t seen you since then, I need you” Emmy whined

“babe, slow down!” I laughed

“I have a load of homework that is not done, help?” she said softly

“do you want me to come now?” I asked

“yes!” she insisted and I was already free for the day

“finally!” Emmy grabbed my hand and dragged me up the stairs

“hello darling!” I heard her mum yell at me from down the stairs

“Hi ma’am” I manages to let out before being pulled into her room and getting the door closed after me

“so, I solve the equations until like half of them then I get stuck in the same point. I asked Finn and he explained to me a way before leaving but it doesn’t work for every time I try to solve it, it makes a new result” she was clearly freaking out, and I took my time to explain everything to her and make sure she understands what to do if she came across any other problem, I had to admit I enjoyed her company, we trailed off every now and then talking about totally random topics which was delightful really.

“Emmy, that’s it!” I looked at her with wide eyes, we’ve been sitting here for 2 hours now, solving her homework and I finally turned the page to find out that, that was the last equation.

“what?” she shook her head in disbelief

“we finished” I squeaked and she couldn’t be happier

“you have no idea how much I love you, Jessica” she said putting her stuff away and I got up and sat on her bed

“don’t get used to it though, I won’t always be here to help you” I watched her as she came to sit across me –“ I know” she nodded

“can you play the guitar?” I questioned looking at the guitar behind her and she did the same

“it’s jack’s, I tried to play some songs” she said getting up and getting it- “ the guitar is completely out of tune and I don’t know how to tune it” she handed it over

“well, you’re lucky. I happen to know how” I said tuning the guitar and –“you know ed sheeran?” I said strumming the guitar to one of his songs entitled;

“fall?” she smiled and I nodded

“I will fall for you, if I fall for you. Would you fall too?” I sang and she laughed

“No, don’t tell me you can sing as well?” she protested and I laughed

“I think I can” I put the guitar down;

“I take it you two are finished?” her mum entered the room and I got up in respect

“yes” I nodded, and emmy did the same

“would you like to have some tea with me, darling?” she addressed me

“I would love to, ma’am” I nodded following her out of the room
