The New Necklace

So after we figured out where we were going to go, Emerald, Rick, and Jake waited for me outside of the human village so I could get a few more medical supplies from the village nurse that helped me out before. We were walking as far from 'Hugo's' house as possible. We came across a few enemies but nothing major, but for some reason once they see my necklace they target me and considering I'm still a bit injured from Max's stupid idea, I can barely fight. One day we were walking in the forest and Jake heard some people in the distance "be careful guys I'm hearing people talk about fighting" "okay" Rick said. I got onto Emerald's and we flew up in the air, just above the tree line to see if we could see anyone. "I can hear Jake and Rick down below. I think they're fighting people" I exclaimed "what? I wanna fight" Emerald said "well then fight me" a voice in the distance said. Two guys came flying at Emerald and I. One was a bat half breed and one was a cat. The bat tackled Emerald almost causing me to fall off "maybe we should fly lower" I suggested "but we don't know if there are anyone in the trees" she said "true, okay what should we do" I said as Emerald is dodging their attacks. "Fight back" she exclaimed " but I can't" I said "I'm still injured" "well then hold on" she said flying towards the guys. I held on as tight as I could...but then ...the cat guy lunged himself off of the bat's back and towards me causing me to fall off of Emerald's back. The cat tries to take my necklace but I try and fight back. It's really hard to fight in mid air. "Rick!" I yelled. Rick looked up and saw me fighting this cat in mid air. I'm losing my strength. The cat gets ahold of my necklace and takes it off and then drops it. Rick caught me. I had hit quite a few branches on my way down but I only got cuts from them. All the people Jake, Rick and Emerald were fighting left. Rick brought me back to the ground. I looked around for my necklace, but when I found it, it was smashed all over the ground... "Hey May did you find-" Jake stopped talking once he saw my necklace all over the place. "No, this can't be..my necklace..I can't fight. I'm not even a bear anymore..." I said crying in Jake's arms. "Maybe someone can fix it" Rick said. "If we go find a place that can fix magical items" Emerald said picking up all the pieces with Rick's help of course. "Come on May. Let's go look." Jake said picking me up off the ground. We started to look for a town or village that could help. We came across two human villages and one human town that couldn't help me. "Hey look another town" Emerald said happily. We got as close to the town at we could to see who were living inside. "Guys they're like us" Rick said. "What?" I looked and saw people from the camp we once knew "remember when the guard found us? This must be where everyone one went to" Jake said. "Let's go in" Emerald said walking into the town. I grabbed her by the shirt. "I can't go in there they'll kill me. Rick and Emerald you two go in. You have the pieces " I said "okay." Rick said. Emerald and Rick left to go into the town and Jake and I found a tree far enough where the townspeople won't see me. "So..uh I should bandage up my cuts I got from falling. " I said opening up my backpack "Uh May..about what happened back when we rescued you from Max..." Jake said shyly "what about it?" I looked at Jake and his face was red, like strawberry red. "Your blushing" I said bandaging up my leg. "Oh uh... I'm sorry for kissing you" I turned around and faced him "sorry? Why?" I asked "I honestly didn't mind. You were scared. I was scared. I was hanging on for my life. I was kinda kidnapped by a creep that tried to kiss me multiple times. And also wanted to kill me-" I stopped talking. Jake was looking at me. "What?" I said giggling "I just notice how much I actually like you. And that you have leaves in your hair" he said taking the leaves out of my hair. I noticed he had a cut on his arm. I lifted my hand and took his arm. "You have a cut" I said. It looked pretty deep. "It's fine. One of those guys had a knife with them" he said looking at the cut. I took bandages out of my bag and wrapped his arm. "There. All bandaged" I said putting the bandages back in my backpack. I leaned against his shoulder and closed my eyes. "I like you too" I said. Jake took my hand and was holding it. I guess I fell asleep. When I woke up Jake, Emerald and Rick were all talking about the town. "Hola May" Emerald said with a grin on her face "look what we got fixed." She took my necklace out of a small bag. "It doesn't look the same but the man said it will still work. And that he also wants to meet the rest of the group." Rick said. I looked at my necklace. It is so beautiful. It looks like the stars in the sky. And was still purple and pink, my favourite colours. I took my necklace and put it back around my neck, and in no time I changed back. They all smiled "there's the May we know" Jake said. Emerald and Rick stood up. "Well let's go to the town" Rick said walking off with Emerald. Jake and I stood up and I noticed we were still holding hands. I didn't say anything we just followed Rick and Emerald into the town. We went to the man's shop who fixed my necklace. "Hello? We're back" Emerald said in a perky tone. "Oh hello there welcome back. So these are the other two you were talking about and I see the necklace still works" the man said come out from a back room. Let look like he was a squirrel. "Let me introduce myself, I'm Ty" "hi I'm May and this is Jake" I said. "Well hello May, Jake.. I heard you came from the 'Half Breed' camp. Like a lot of people here did." A girl ran down the stairs. "Papa I found it, I found the-" the girl had fallen down the stairs. Rick helped her up "ow, thank you. Papa I found the gem you were looking for earlier" she gave the stone to her father "hi. I'm Katie, pleased to meet you" she was also a squirrel. "Hi I'm Emerald this is Rick, May and Jake" Emerald introduced us. Katie looked and Jake and I holding hands and walked over "ah so this is the necklace papa was fixing so cute. Can I try it?" She said holding the pendant in her hand" Katie you can't try that one on she needs that" Ty said "aw okay" she ran over to Ty "papa can they stay in the guest house? Please, please, please" "uh I don't see why not. We don't use it very much" "yay" she ran over and took Jake's other hand Jake let go of my hand so I didn't get pulled and get hurt. Emerald Rick and I followed with our bags. We walked outside and saw this big house. "Here we are. The guest house." She said holding onto Jake's hand "uh okay...thanks." Jake said trying to walk away but she pulled him back. "No you can stay in the main house" "uh no. It's fine. I'd like to be here with my friends thanks" he said looking at us. "Aw but please stay with me" she said looking at him. I walked over "everything okay Jakey?" I looked at him with a fake smile "aw your sister calls you Jakey. How cute" she said looking at him. He looked at me with a 'help me' look on his face. Rick walked over. "Sister? Ha that's funny. They're dating" Rick said our faces went red. "Yeah please let go of me" Jake said kindly. "I'm sorry I didn't think you two were..." She let go and then walked away. Emerald and I walked into the house and went to our room, there were two beds, two closets and two desks. "That was funny" she giggled "yeah sure" I responded. I put my stuff away and laid down on the bed I picked. Rick and Jake made something for dinner. We ate and then I went back to our room. I heard a bell ring so I looked out the window. I saw a school. Everyone who went there was just like us. I left the house to walk around a bit. I saw a little church, a river, little theatre, it's such a cute little town.
