Nerves and Annie weren't exactly something which Clark was openly used to. He didn't know the last time he had seen her this nervous. She sat, leg bouncing away, foot tapping on the floor as her hands twisted and turned around each other; well, one managed to do this, the plaster encasing her hand got picked at. Clark looked away from her and looked around himself, people weren't looking too dissimilar to herself. Some looked glum, others full of dread, some appeared to be nervous, and then there were some who seemed really disjointed and staring off into space. Hospitals were meant to be places of healing and health, yet these people around them didn't look like they believed in that.

Eventually Clark got fed up with Annie's shifting and fidgeting, she was fine. Admittedly when she had offhandedly asked him, he had given her an honest reply as to how her bones were healing. And they were healing. The fractures in her ribs seemed to be fully healed, or there about. Her arm, that was a different matter, the bones were still not fused back and broken. "You're fine, you know? There's nothing to worry about."

"Coming from you!" Was the whispered response as she shot him a look. "You can say that so easily, and though I believe you, it still doesn't mean I can't feel nervous as heck, right?" Annie looked at him with wide eyes, Clark sighed and readjusted his hold on her hand. She had a point though, and he knew her slightly snappy tone was used because she was afraid, trust him, he could hear her heart rapidly beating away; but she was right, he could easily say she'd be okay. Because really, he didn't know what it was like to have some stranger prodding and poking about his body in hopes to determine what was wrong. It was one of those few times where he really couldn't relate, though he tried, in the end he just smiled at her, Annie inhaled deeply and leaned her forehead against his arm. "I'm sorry...it's just, I really hate these places."

"It's okay."

"No, it's not really, is it? Being here isn't a reason to be irritable at you, even more so considering you don't have to be here, and that all you're trying to do is make me feel better." Annie leaned away and looked at him with a sad smile. "So, I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted in that case." Clark said while letting her hand go and reached up to place his arm around her shoulders. He managed to somehow pull her close, despite the uncomfortable hospital chairs. Annie seemed to only just relax and settle her heart rate, and that went to pot as soon as some nurse called out her name. She shot up and looked like a deer in the headlights. Clark put a finger under her chin and made her look at him. He smiled, "I'll be waiting for you right here." He leaned forwards and kissed her softly. "You're okay." He whispered while nodding in the nurse's direction, Annie nodded slowly and stood up. With forced confidence, she walked along the brightly lit corridor before turning into the room which the nurse was gesturing a hand to.

Clark crossed his arms and just looked in that direction. This was perhaps one of few times he was thankful for being able to see through things, as well as hear things which no other person should. Okay, he was aware that he was breaching patient confidentiality, in all ways possible, and he knew Annie would tell him what happened; but seeing her overall worry for this appointment led him to this spying moment.

In some ways, it wasn't like he hadn't already played spy, he had kept an eye on her injuries even before she asked him how they were healing. The doctor was asking about those very same injuries now, he was asking other questions too which Annie seemed to answer with ease, she was in the room for about ten minutes, maybe fifteen before she came walking along the corridor with a piece of paper in her hands.

Clark stood up and looked at her curiously, luckily enough Annie didn't even seem to ponder over him snooping, "So?"

"Radiology." Annie smirked and looked up at him. "They want to know how well I have healed, and yeah...shall I just send you in to give them a report?" She whispered while leaning forwards so no one else could hear her.
