TERENY
Keira and I had sat up all night after putting the kids to bed, waiting up for Bruce and Chris to come back to the house. And what made me even more angrier is the fact that they never did. I tried calling Bruce's phone and it just went straight to voicemail. I don't know who he thinks he is, but if he was going to have me here while he did his little dirt with Gabby, he got another thing coming. This won't be happening. I think not.I had just stepped out of the shower and looked at the cloud shaped clock and grew an even bigger attitude. 3:50AM.
Drying myself off and putting on clothes, I heard the doorbell ring. And considering that I don't live here, I took my time. But when I heard Bruce's voice, I hurried and pulled my shirt over my head, not even bother to dry my hair properly with the towel.
I opened the bathroom door and walked out into the front room where Keira was standing in the middle of the floor. And next thing I see is Gabby with a bruised up face. My face twisted up at the sight of her, although she was hurt. And the fact that Bruce was holding her up as if she couldn't hold up herself was pissing my off.
"Oh my God, Gabby. I'm so sorry this happened to you." Keira said as she hugged her. Gabby looked at me as I walked into the room. I crossed my arms and looked away from her with a plain expression and looked over at Bruce.
"I tried calling. The phone went straight to voicemail." I say to him with an attitude. Bruce dug around in his pant pockets and pulled his phone out. He looked down at it and then looked back up at me.
"My battery must've died. I'm sorry, baby. We had to handle some things." He said to me.
"I'm...uh...hi, Tereny." Gabby spoke up. I didn't want to acknowledge her, but I went on ahead and looked at her, letting out a deep sigh as if she were bothering me. "I'm sorry for keeping him out." She smiled, but I didn't bother to smile back.
"I'm going to bed." I announced as I turned away and walked down the hall and into the guest bedroom we were sleeping in.
Britney and Britten were sleeping side by side, looking like two angels. As much as I wanted to stand up there and admire them, I was too pissed off with Bruce. I rolled my eyes and put my dirty clothes into the black garbage bag and tucked it away.
Zipping up my suitcase, Bruce came into the room and shut the door behind him, looking at me as if I had done something wrong. I looked away from him and grabbed my bottle of lotion to lotion up and get into bed with my kids. Honestly, I didn't have anything to say to him.
"Tereny, what's wrong with you?" He asked me, sounding stupid.
"Nothing. You good." I waved him off.
"I mean, obviously not. Gabby said something to you and you just walked off like she wasn't there. Something gotta be wrong." He argued.
"Who the fuck is she supposed to be? So what I didn't speak to her. Do I have to? You been out all night. You couldn't even have the decency to text me and let me know what you were doing. I'm sitting up here with Keira, worried that something happened to you and Chris. Now, damn it four in the morning, you come through the door like ain't nothing wrong with that." I argue back. Bruce shook his head.
