Chapter Three

Lunette's forehead burned as the blue crescent moon glowed slightly. "But how? What? That isn't... What the-? Oh my gods this is giving me a frickin' headache!" Percy groaned. His eyes drifted to the water. "You can't really be goddess. That just isn't possible."

"I'm not sure how it's possible, but I'm the daughter of Poseidon and Artemis." Lunette said. Percy's head jerked back to face Lunette. His eyes were wide.

"Now, that is a joke. That seriously is impossible." Percy shook his head.

"It's true. I was created by power, Percy." Lunette pulled an arrow and a wave from the lake. "When Artemis's arrow collided with Poseidon's wave," Lunette pushed the arrow and the wave together and created a sphere of water. "It created me. I was protected by the water that could not be touched, even by my own parents. All the gods and goddesses said that I was a mistake and should be killed. Zeus kept a quiet mouth and didn't say much on the subject, so the other god's took it into their own hands. They all attempted to kill me with no such luck.

"Zeus was amazed by what I could do. He called upon the Gods and Goddesses, minor and major, and announced that I was immortal. He named me the Goddess of Power. Zeus named me that because I was made completely of power. One of my three gifts is the power over most of demigod's power. He also gave me the gift to control water almost as well as Poseidon and the gift to be almost as good of a Hunter as Artemis. Because of my water control, the water dog can keep its form when the moon rises. If I stop controlling the water, then the water will just change back into regular water."

"Wait, back up. What's all this about power?" Percy stared at Lunette intently. He frowned and sat down.

She sighed and joined him on the soft green grass. "My natural powers are Hunting and water control. But, I can also take some of a demigod's power away to help me. I don't love the gift, but I don't hate it either. I can beat a demigod in a battle without it. It only really helps to make it faster fight." Percy stared gave Lunette the most puzzled look she had ever seen. She doesn’t like telling this whole story. Last time she told it... No, no need to be sad on a perfectly fine day, She scolded herself. "Okay, I'm going to try something and you're just going to have to trust me." Lunette stood up and pulled Percy up with her.

"Should I be scared?" Percy asked, suspiciously. Lunette laughed.

"Not at all. Okay, so try and pull the water sword from the water." Percy struggled but after a couple minutes he was holding his water molded sword. Lunette created her own sword. She held it in a way to start the fight. He blocked all her attempts to get past his sword and she blocked all of his attempts to get past her sword. When she thought he had the hang of using the sword, she took away half of his power. His face turned pale and he lost control of the sword and it splattered to the ground. He struggled to stay on his feet. She heard Annabeth calling Percy's name. She ran up to him and helped him stand. Lunette broke her intense stare and smiled as Percy slowly regained his color in his face as the power returned to him.

"Wow, that was, umm, really something'." Percy said and ran his fingers through his short brown hair.

"What happened?" Annabeth asked him. Percy glanced at Lunette and she gave him a warning glare.

"She hit me on the head with her sword-" Lunette waved the water sword. "And I felt a little light headed."

Annabeth rolled her eyes, "I swear, Percy-" Annabeth started muttering under her breath.

"Oh, Lunette? Capture the Flag starts in ten minutes. I'll show you where the armor is so you can get ready. And you might want a sword; I don't know how well that will work in battle..." Annabeth pursed her lips.
