             This was thee most happiest day of my life, and I have never been so nervous. Million of things were going through my head at once. But if I fall flat on my face, but if he changes his mind and no longer wants to marry me, but if I forget my vows and faint. No but if I break my heel, fall flat on my face, forget my vows, throw up which causes him to change his mind then I faint. Worse of all but if his dad stands up and objects. Hell I’ll kill him with no problem! My head begin to just spend with the, what ifs. 

         Next thing I know my phone started to vibrate. I answered it, and it was the very man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. “Hey My Love” I said. “Hello My Everlasting Love. I know its bad luck to see you before the wedding but I wanted to tell you that I can’t wait to give you my last name and spend the rest of my life with the most beautiful woman in the world” he said. “Awww Antonio, I love you so much and I can’t wait to finally become Mrs. Lela Artest for the rest of our lives as well” I said. “I love you too. I’ll see you at the altar in a few hours baby and I’ll make that happen for the both of us” he said. And just like that I was no longer nervous.

             I said a quick prayer and went to the closet to put on the most important dress of my life. It was beautiful and hand made by my grandmother! It waspowder white with gold trimmings and gold heels. It was strapless and fit my waste and flared out with a long train.  After I put on my dress there was a knock at the door. “Who is it” I said. “Your grandma” the voice on the other side replied. “Come in Me-ma” I said “O Lee you look so beautiful” my grandmother said as tears of joy ran down her face. “Thank you, Me-ma, can you help me put my tiara on”? I replied. Majority of my hair was up in a twisted bun while I had a swoop on the left side. Nicole did my hair well at least for a big event she did, usually I would keep my hair in a curly pony tail or straight down. But Nicole knew how to do all the fancy stuff. It was expected of her since she now works at a beauty salon. “Sure, just sit down in the chair” she said. As I sat in the chair she told me how proud she was of me. She was proud that I sat out and accomplish every goal I made for myself. I was the first to attend college, graduate and became a successful lawyer. But most important I found a man that I loved more than my next breath and who would stand by my side through the good and bad. Once my tiara was secured on my head she told me to step back so she could get a good look at me. She began to cry again and I brought her a box of tissue and hugged her. As we sat there in silence hugging another knock was at the door. I yelled out “WHO IS IT”! The door slightly opened and in peek Trina head, Antonio’s mother. “I’m sorry is this a bad time” she whispered? “Oh no, I am so sorry Trina please come in and shut the door” I said. “Are you sure I can come back” she said. “No, no come in…please” I said quickly. As she came in and shut the door she hugged me and told me I was a beautiful bride. “You made a beautiful dress Michelle” she said. “Thank you” my grandmother replied. “Lela I want you to know that there will be ups and downs in your life but you do not have to go throw them alone. You have brought to families together that love and support you, good friends, a loving husband and most important God. Never forget to always put him first and he will bless your marriage as he did me and your grandfather” my grandmother said. I grabbed both of their hands. As I looked at my grandmother I said “thank you Me-ma for taking me in, and going above and beyond the aspects of a grandmother”. Then I turned and look at Trina and said “thank you so much for raising the perfect gentleman that I fail in love with so many years ago”. As they cried tears of joy I told them to stop crying before I started. As we laughed there was yet another knock at the door. In unison we all said “WHO IS IT” and laughed! “It’s me Tatiana I want to see the bride too. Can I come in” the voice on the other end replied. “Of course, come in” I said with laughter. “What’s so funny” she asked. “O nothing” I replied.

       Meanwhile the groom was laughing it up with his boys a few rooms down. “Mannnnnnn I can’t believe you’re getting married” David said. “Man I know, it’s great, I love that woman” Antonio replied. “Man you’re a sap, your sweet ass won’t be able to do shit no more. You just watch. No more clubbing, having sex with other woman, staying out at all hours of the night, having sex with other woman” said T. “Nigga you said sex with other women twice” Antonio said. “Man I know, that’s how bad I feel for you. In fact I’m going to say it again NO MORE SEX WITH OTHER WOMEN” T said. “Man I know that, I don’t want another woman and I’m happy with Lela. When you find that woman that can make your heart beat slow, fast, stop and go all at one time you’ll settle down too. Well I hope you can find a woman like that one day” Antonio said. “Nigga don’t put that voodoo on me” T said. “Whatever man” Antonio said shaking his head. “Knock, knock big bruh” Mariah and Jasmine said as they walked in the room followed by Nicole. “Time to take some pictures” Mariah said. “You bet not break mom camera or she’s going to break her foot off in your ass. Where’s Tatiana at so she can take the pictures” Antonio asked? “She’s with Lela, mom and her grandma taking pictures” Jasmine said. “Ok you three need to beat it! Grown men talking right now” Nelson said as he pushed them out after they took a few pictures. “Dog I can’t believe you getting married. And to Lela” he said. “I don’t know why not, I’ve been saying that since we were in school that she was going to be my wife” Antonio said with a big smile on his face. “I know but, she should have become my woman after the first break up in college” Nelson jokingly said. “You’re so lame. Why did you always want my women? Get your own” Antonio said. “Man I don’t want her no mo, if I wanted her I could have her right now. In fact when the pastor asks if any one objects I’m going to say I do and take her from you. You know she been secretly wanting me to” Nelson said still playing. “Nigga I’ll kill you if you mess up our day” Antonio said playing around choking Nelson but at the same time serious. T and David pulled them apart and told them to save that gay shit for later. Antonio started to fix up his tie when Reynolds walked in. “So are you ready to do this” Reynolds said. “Yes I am” Antonio replied with a smile. “You don’t seem a bit nervous about getting married” Reynolds said. “Well of course not she’s the love of my life. She is the only woman I want” he said tying his shoes. “Well alright then that’s all I needed to hear, glad to know you don’t have cold feet. Antonio I wish you happiness with my granddaughter, I know she will be in good hands with you, and I will keep you both in my prayers” Reynolds said. “Thank you old man” Antonio said with a smile. As everyone walked out the room T said “I’m really happy for you man even though I give you a hard time. It’s just what we do you know I don’t mean nothing by it”. “I know man and I appreciate you saying that” Antonio said. “Yea, yea, yea with all this sweet talking shit. I’ll see you out there in 30 minutes. And just between us I do hope I find that voodoo love you was talking about” T said as he closed the door behind his self.

       After he left Antonio sat on the chair and pulled out a picture of Lela out his wallet. On the other hand, everyone left out of Lela room to give her some privacy. She walked to the mirror and pulled a taped picture of Antonio off. Antonio and Lela turned the picture over and read: TO my ever lasting love of my life, I PROMISE YOU NO ONE COULD LOVE YOU AS MUCH AS I DO. AND I WILL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU. 1-4-3 24/7 365 HOLLAND!
