chapter 6

DWAYNES POV

Saying i was still in shock was an understatement. Sitting before me was a faer, with the ability to change her size aparently. Not only that, she was a princess of her people.

-Oh, God, were there more coming?-

The sound of Emily shivering brings me out of my thoughts. I quickly stand up and reach my hand out to her.

"Come on, lets go down to my apartment and get you warm."

Giving me her hand , she lets me lead her accross the roof and down to my apartment.

EMILYS POV

I couldnt belive it. Everything was surreal. First i managed to run away from my home in the rain forest after finding out that my father was gonna force me to marry Nate the moronic warrior. Then I ended up in a strange land that was bright and loud. It all confused me and I ended up knocking into a creature 100 times bigger then me. The whole experiance frightened me.

I had to muster up a lot of energy to get myself the same size as the giant male creature in front of me. Even then he was a little taller then me. Which I guess was normal in this world.

I had started shivering from the cold when the man called Dwayne offered to bring me to his apartment to get warm. I didnt know what an apartment really was until we entered it. It was his home.

It was a decent place, except that my wings kept knocking into everything. It was a little frustrating.

Dwayne looked up at me apolageticly when i knocked over yet another item.

" sorry for the lack of space." He mumbled.

"No its my fault. I should of thought about hiding the wings when I made myself bigger." I replied. I closed my eyes and conscetrated on my inner energy. With in moments my wings disapeared. It felt a little weird not having them there, but it was nessecary so i wouldnt completely destroy Dwaynes home.

Dwayne looked at me with a look of awe. I couldnt help but blush. I sat down on one of the soft chair and looked down on at the floor.

Sitting across from me, Dwayne looked at me with curiosity.

After a few moments he broke the silence. "Where are you from? Why are you here?" He asked.

I knew those questions were coming. I knew I would had to explain to someone, it was only fair that I give answers to the person showing me kindness.

So i took a deep breath and started explaining everything.

"Well, I am from the amazon. I am the daughter of king Nore of the fae. I am here because I ran away from my home because my father was gonna force me to marry this moronic warrior Nate even though he knows I have no interest in the halfwit. I just want to fall in love with someone not get married because its my duty to my people to keep my royal bloodline from dying out."

By the time I was done i was red in the face and frustrated with the whole situation. I wrapped my arms around my knees to keep myself from shaking from anger.

Dwayne knelt in front of me with a look of concern.

"Its ok, your safe here. No one is gonna make you do want you dont want as long as your here." His voice was gentle, and kinda attractive.

"Thanks. But I dont want to be a burden." I replied.

"Your not a burden at all. You can stay here as long as you need to. I'll help you out, it's no problem at all." Dwayne smiled and it warmed my heart.

"Thanks." I blushed an not wanting to really argue against him.

"No problem, now lets get you to bed, you must be exhusted and its kinda late."

Dwayne stood up and led me to his room telling me that I could sleep in there while he took the couch.

As soon as i laid down i fall asleep, Dwayne was right, i am exhusted.

The warmth of the sun woke me up the next morning. I opened my eye, and was slightly confused by my strange surroundings. After a few moments the memory of what happened the two days flooded back to me. The stress of running away from my home and the warmth and kindness that Dwayne showed me.

I quietly slipped out of the bed and tip toed out to the next room to see if Dwayne was awake.

Peaking around the corner, I seen that Dwayne was sitting down drinking hot liquid out of a cup. I glided into the room and sat next to him slightly startling him.

"Good morning, how did you sleep?" He asked setting his cup on the table.

" I sleep good, thank you. How did you sleep?" I smiled at the ease we were able to talk to each other.

"I slept ok thanks." After a few moments, Dwayne picked up a pile of clothing that was sitting on the other side of him and placed them in front of me.

"What are these?" I asked picking up the cloths. "These are cloths for you to wear to help you blend in." He replied

"oh, thanks." I stood up and went to change into the cloths. When I came back out Dwayne almost choked on his drink.

"wow, you look great." He said. I couldn't help but blush. "um thanks." I replyed.

After a few moments Dwayne stood up and held out his hand. "Come on, let me show you around the city."

KING NORES POV

"I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!! HOW COULD SHE DO THIS TO ME, TO THE KINGDOM!!!!!!!!"

I can't believe that my daughter ran away, and the day before her wedding. This is an insult. No one would of even knew that she was gone until it was time to get ready for the wedding if it wasnt for her little friend Lilly saying something. Girl was forever infuriating me. I need to get her home and straighten her out.

"GAURDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Two bulky faerys entered the council room.

" PUT TOGETHER ASEARCH PARTY AND SEARCH THE WORLD FOR MY DAUGHTER AND BRING BACK BY ANY MEANS!!!!"

DWAYNES POV

The whole day I took Emily sight seeing. She was like a kid in a candy store the whole time. It was actually adorable. I took her to see the staue of liberty, times square, the empire stae building, madison square park, and central park. It was a great day. Now we were watching boats go by while eating corn dogs.

"So, how did you like everything?'' I asked, hoping she had as much fun exploring New York as much as I enjoyed showing her.

"It was great, I utterly enjoyed everything Dwayne.Thanks for today." She blushed.

I couldnt help but laugh. Her excitement and the redness in her cheeks were kinda hott. I couldnt believe I had thought that but part of me wasnt really surprised. I was becoming very attracted to Emily. It was deffintly more then an infatuation.

" umm, emily?'' My heart practiclly pounded out of my chest as I said her name.

She looked up at me with her big beutiful hazel-green eyes. "Yes Dwayne?"

I took a deep breath and spoke. " Will you go out with me tonight, on a date?"
