CHAPTER 9

EMILYS POV

I felt numb and empty inside. As the day progressed, servents of my father came and went to do fittings for a wedding gown. I just wanted to die inside. I was lost without Dwayne. What made things worse was that my own father was holding me prisoner and forcing me into a unwanted marrige with a man that I did not love.

It was about early evening when my door opened and Lilly walked in. I knew she had told my father that i had disapeared. But I didnt have the energy to be mad at her.

"Emily? Are you ok?" she asked. Was she seriously asking me that? "What do you think? Do I look ok?" I snapped. Ok so maybe I did have the energy to get mad at her.

"Im so sorry emily. What i did was a huge betrayal to you." Lilly was on the verge of tears. "Is there anything i can do to make it up to you?" She asked, almost begging.

"Not if you had a way to get me outta here and back in the arms of Dwayne." I replyed very @#!*% .

Lilly gave me a confused look. "Who is Dwayne?" she asked. I rolled me eyes. " He is the man I met while I was out in the world amoung the humans. He is amazing, gentle, and the most fantastic man i've ever laid eyes on." i replyed dreamly. The way things were going for me, I would most likely never see Dwayne again.

When I looked back at Lilly she was deep in thought. After a moment, she flew out of the room with out a word.

DWAYNES POV

The sun seeped through the windows and touched my skins. Why wouldnt it go away already? Why did it mock me when I lost the love of my life to her fathers gaurd. I had no way of saving her either. What would've I done anyways? I'm a simple human, and Emilys people were fae. Maybe we werent ment to be anyways.  

I laid in bed depressed. suddenly a ball of light came through the broken window and landed on my bed. it was like I was being mocked.  

I tried swatting the light away. I didn't need the torment.  

the light shrieked and then started to grow. god, would the torment ever end.  

"you must be Dwayne." a soft voice said.  

I looked up and there was a tiny blond with wings. 

"what the @#!*% !" I stammered. "who the @#!*% are you?"

"I'm lilly. I'm a friend of emilys and I'm here to bring you to her so you can rescue her from this crazed forced marriege." she replied.

 I just stared at her. I had no idea how to respond to that.     "Hello? you ok?"

I have to force myself to respond to her.  I tell myself. "What do you mean you gotta bring me to her?" I ask.

she smiled at me, and then grabs my hand. "I mean, I'm bringing you to the amazon to save Emily."

Next thing I knew we were in the air flying away from my cabin and into the distance.
