A few hours later we were all outside in the back yard, drinking, grilling and having a good time. I couldn't wait to make my move. I could see James had just finished another beer and being the good friend I am I offered to go grab him one.
"Hey, you need a beer?" I asked as I headed into the kitchen.
James tossed his empty bottle in the trashcan and nodded. "Yeah that would be nice man thanks"
I smiled and walked in the kitchen, grabbing a few beers. Keeping a look out for anyone I slid the bottle of Temazepam I'd managed to steal from the doctor and opened one of the beers. Crushing the pill I added the crushed pill to the drummers beer and shook it slightly to hide the taste. Once I was satisfied I headed back outside, handing the open bottle to James.
"Thanks Danny" he said, chugging half of the beer down.
Sam shook his head and laughed. "Slow down a little baby. Or you'll be passing out soon."
James laughed and shook his head, finishing the rest of his food. "I'm not going to sleep baby. I promise."
I couldn't help but laugh as I took a seat on the bench next to Cameron. "He's going to pass out soon. We all know this."
Cameron nodded "he's always the first to pass out. I wouldn't be James if he didn't." He added.
My plan was going well so far. Now all I had to do was wait for the pill to take affect.
After finishing my meal, I tossed my plate in the trashcan, lighting a cigarette. Discretely I kept an eye on James, hoping it would start working soon.
"Baby? Are you okay?" I heard Sam ask.
James raised an eyebrow and plopped down on the bench, shaking his head. "I'm fine." He said, his voice slurred.
Cameron looked at me and I could tell he was worried. He jumped up and hurried to where the drummer was seated. "James, are you okay mate?" He asked, placing a hand against his back.
"Yeah" he started, taking in a few deep breaths.
"Do you want to go lay down?" Sam asked, rubbing his hand across his boyfriends back.
James shook his head as he tried to stand, stumbling back a bit before Cameron and Sam helped him to sit once more.
"Bro" I started as I made my way toward the trio. "Maybe you should go lay down. You don't look so good." I said, pulling my best Danny.
James looked up at me and I could tell the pills were working now. What the hell am I going to do with Cameron and Sam? I hadn't thought about them.
There was part of me that hoped the pills just killed him. But then again there was another part of me that wants to torture him a little before he dies.
Sam had a look of pure fear plastered across his face as he watched the drummer. "I'm worried about you babe" he said softly, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
I could see James' eyes roll back in his head and his head dropped forward."we need to call 911. Something's not right" Cameron said.
He couldn't call 911. He couldn't. That would ruin everything. I needed them to stop worrying so much so I could put my plan into good use.
What was I going to do? I hadn't thought about this happening. I had to think fast.
"Okay, let's don't freak out, guys" I started, "maybe we should give him a little time and see how he is later."
Sam swallowed hard and sighed as he ran his fingers through his boyfriends hair. "I'm just worried about him." He said softly.
Cameron nodded, slipping an arm around James and picked him up carefully. "Danny's right. James would be pissed if we took him to the hospital and they told us he was just drunk." He said, heading in the house.
We followed behind him, and I closed the door behind us.
Cameron laid the drummer on the couch, propping his head on the pillow. "Does he look like he'd be comfortable here?" He asked, looking at Sam and I.
I nodded and grabbed the blanket, draping it over him gently.
"I think so." I said, taking a seat in one of the chairs in the living room.
Now all I had to do was get rid of Cameron and Sam. Truth was I didn't want to hurt either one of them.
I wasn't sure what my options were now. The only think I could think of was chloroform.
I sighed and slipped away quietly and hurried to my room. I got the towel and headed back out to the living room. "You guys are just going to sleep for a little while so James and I can have a little fun" I thought to myself as I rounded the corner and headed back to where everyone was.
I had the rag out of sight as Cameron and Sam came into view. I almost felt bad. Almost. But then again not enough to stop my actions. This had to be done.
I grinned as Cameron excused himself to the bathroom. 'This will make things so much easier' I thought.
Once Cameron had shut the bathroom door I quietly came up behind Sam, placing the rag over his face. His struggled for a moment but soon his body went limp and he slumped over.
One down.
It wasn't long till Cameron emerged from the restroom and shook his head, grinning at Sam. "And he said he wasn't tired" he said as he sat back against the couch.
Taking a deep breath I knew I had to move quickly so I didn't lose my nerve. I came up behind him, placing the rag over his face as well. He didn't struggle, and it was almost as if he welcomed it as his head rolled to the side.
Although I was pleased with my handiwork, I still felt bad for doing this to Cameron. After all, he'd been really good to me.
I patted Cameron's sleeping form on the head as I approached my victim. James. I shook my head and took a seat next to the drummer. "All you had to do was act like you cared, James" I started, grabbing the drummers head. "But you didn't. All you cared about was Sam. You didn't care that poor Danny was breaking down. You didn't care" I screamed.
James' head rolled forward and I laughed as I slapped him across the face. "Wake up, you piece of shit!" I yelled. James groaned and his eyes fluttered open slowly.
I could tell he was still doped up from the pill I'd slipped him, but I didn't care.
"What are you doing, Danny?!" He shouted, grabbing his cheek.
I laughed and spit in his face. "Danny isn't here anymore. I'm
Daniel. Your worst nightmare"I could tell by the look on his face that he was scared now and a bit confused as well.
"Wha- what do you mean you're not, Danny?" He asked, fear present in his voice.
"See, sometimes when something traumatic happens, people create a completely different person. That's what happened here. Danny couldn't handle losing Ben and I came out. I've actually been here for awhile" I said, pacing back and forth behind him. "Like when he was poisoning our body with those drugs, it was me who almost died. It was me who went through detox"
"Okay but why do you want to hurt me?" James asked.
"You're the only one whose acted like Ben's death meant nothing to you. I don't think it hurt you in the slightest." I said, stopping directly in front of him and grabbing his face so he was looking at me. "Ben was the love of Danny's life, but he was also the love of my life."
James swallowed hard and looked off to the side, hoping Cameron or Sam would magically wake up and save him. "They're not waking up, dear" I laughed, shaking my head. "It's just you and me."
"You don't want to hurt me. Because Danny cares about me. If you kill me, think of what that will do to him."
I shook my head once more and grinned "Danny will be fine. I'll see to that. He won't have to deal with any of that bullshit."
"Sam! Cameron! Please someone wake up!" He screamed.
"Poor little James. Neither of them will be waking up anytime soon."
James swallowed hard and I could tell he was fighting back tears. Now comes the fun part.
